Built in the 1950s, this fast road took most of the traffic out of the village. It also split the village in two halves (as you can see as the photo is taken from the footbridge connecting the two). Fuji X-E2.
When bypassed by the Northern Pacific Railroad in December 1884, over 100 buildings were moved with rollers and horse teams to the nearby site of the depot. The new city was dubbed North Yakima and was officially incorporated and named the county seat on January 27, 1886. The name was changed to Yakima in 1918. Union Gap was the new name given to the original site of Yakima.
Echuca, Victoria and Moama, NSW
In the distance is the old bridge that was the main crossing between the twin towns of Moama in NSW and Echuca in Victoria. A new bridge has now been built which more or less bypasses the towns but the old one is still very much in use.
Egyptian Geese are really rare around here, but there's a little flock in the region that shows up every few years.

Pathway and cycleway going under the bridge. From near our house leading to Winthorpe on the other side of Newark bypass. Two different types of fencing visible as well as the small bridge.
Plenty of weeds, growing in the gaps, nooks and crannies!
The cycleway is part of the National Cycleway Network. The National Cycle Network is a UK-wide network of signed paths and routes for walking, wheeling, cycling and exploring outdoors.
The power lines pass by this old house, long abandoned, on their way to the present, leaving the past behind.

A Union Pacific C41-8W leads eastbound containers south of Riverdale Yard via the Bypass track.
Towering above are the slopes of 9,716 ft. Ben Lomond Mountain, wearing a wintry coat of snow on a fine autumn morning.
