Dick is the Chairman of Market Platform Dynamics and the author of more than 100 academic articles. He has Ph.D. and undergraduate degrees from MIT in economics and lives in Boston.

Trucost analysed the environmental impacts of a turkey (2kg), potatoes (1kg) and sweet corn (1kg) - the average quantities needed to make a holiday dinner for a family of four. The stages were examined from farm to the supermarket shelf, looking at the carbon and water footprints and embedded waste and pollution for each product. Trucost then calculated the natural capital cost of each of these. The percentages indicate the contribution each impact makes to the product’s total environmental impact.
