A lovely bunch of Carnations and Statice.
Archives
The scientific name of the carnation is Dianthus, which is taken from two Greek words: Dios, which refers to Zeus, the supreme Greek God, and ruler of Olympus, and Anthos which means flower. A literal translation would be “flower of the Gods” or “heavenly flower”.
And since my dear friend Heidi and I seem to share a mind today, I will dedicate this pink bunch to her with lots of love and a big pink smile :)))
And here's her wonderful pink pic ;D

Every year our patio table looks like that,
this year I have to replace them with new,
I left all our bulbs outside in the box during the winter:-(
The first bunches of daffodils are in the supermarkets now. I always think they look so insignificant with their tight buds but which break into flower soon in the warmth of the house.
Thank you for visiting my photostream.💛💛
My puffin post yesterday wrapped up the seabird series and kicked off a series of multiples...shots with multiple (two or more) subjects.
Here, a herd of bison grazing in a fresh dusting of snow in Grand Teton National Park. The challenge on this one was that the bison were a considerable distance from the road. I wanted to include as much of the heard as possible and zooming to 400mm didn't do that. So I backed off to 200mm which allowed most of the herd to be in the fame, but way too much featureless snow in the foreground. I played with the crop options and settled on this pano crop.
I picked a bunch of Shasta Daisies and they are still alive 8 days later.
Introduced to the garden world in 1901, the Shasta daisy (Leucanthemum ×superbum) is a hybrid combining the best qualities of the oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare), English field daisy (Leucanthemum maximum) and Portuguese field daisy (Leucanthemum lacustre).
It was bred by American horticulturist Luther Burbank
Have a lovely day
