I may not be pretty but I get the job done. 1966 Ford N600.

Butch is headed right toward us and there is no avoiding his drooling chops and enormous pink tongue that leave our hands and forearms slimed. . .he seems to be the unofficial park greeter. . .

And, no, Butch is not our dog. . . though we have had many. . . but to be honest, Butch acted like he was everyone's dog -- one of the friendliest we have ever met!

Beautiful day for a day trip, normally we don't see any wildlife but did get lucky and saw two deer. Very exciting!!

Kind but courageous, friendly but dignified, the Bulldog is a thick-set, low-slung, well-muscled bruiser whose 'sourmug face is the universal symbol of courage and tenacity. These docile, loyal companions adapt well to town or country.

Very friendly, but our doggy was terrified by the size of it :-)

Thank you all for visits, faves and comments!

The Bulldog was a side-by-side training aircraft from the 1970s.

In the background is an older trainer type, the Chipmunk, a tandem trainer, with the instructor sitting behind the student. Both arrangements have their advantages.

More than 300 Bulldogs were constructed, and as well as the RAF served in numerous air arms around the world, most notably Sweden, who bought 78 machines.

For some reason bulldogs love to sleep on their back.

American Bulldogs are a well-balanced athletic dog that demonstrate great strength, endurance, agility, and a friendly attitude. Historically, they were bred to be a utility dog used for working the farm. The American Bulldog is a descendant of the English Bulldog. It is believed that the bulldog was in America as early as the 17th century.

A face Churchill would have loved. Winston Churchill was often talked about as a Bulldog of a man. Especially during WW II when the PM's expression had to be as intensive as his antagonists.

Yousuf Karsh (one of our great Armenian-Canadian portraitist) had a hit when he pulled the cigar from his mouth and made his now famous portrait.

My French bulldog puppy Mac

There's no mistaking the bulldog nose of EMD's F units. An early 1970's look for this Western Maryland adorned HO scale Athearn Genesis F. The paint is factory with weathering done with a mix of airbrushing, washes with some artists oils and some chalks. Repowered with a Kato mechanism.

I might have posted a couple different views of this move in the past so perhaps enough time has passed to throw up another. This is the BNSF Madison Turn (Y-STL117) passing the Cotton Belt Freighthouse just north of downtown St. Louis. The Madison Turn has departed the TRRA Madison Yard and is heading to the BNSF former Frisco Lindenwood Yard southwest of the city. For brief periods over the last few years, some interesting power could be found on local jobs around the area. BNSF 1400 was no exception!

In the present day, the freight house is one of the few buildings of interest still along the TRRA as a couple have been lost to "fires with mysterious causes."

Siempre me cruzo animales atados esperando a su amo a que le haga un poco de caso.

Genesee & Wyoming's CLP8/CLP14 lead a Melbourne to Port Adelaide 5MA6 P & O shippers service through the crossing loop at Mile End, Adelaide. Lurking in the shadows is light engine DL42 on the Mile End turntable, waiting to be attached as second unit to the Sydney bound Indian Pacific.

CLP8 was built in 1971 by Clyde Engineering as CL9 for the Commonwealth Railways. In 1993 it was re-manufactured by Morrison & Knudsen for then owner Australian National. It is rumoured it will be given a major life-extending overhaul by its current owner Aurizon later in 2025.

Scottish Aviation Bulldog T1 primary trainer XX654, on display in the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, was one of 132 aircraft delivered from February 1972. This aircraft logged more than 7,400 flying hours before going into storage prior to delivery by road to the museum.

Behind the Bulldog is G-APAS, the 22nd Comet DH106 aircraft built at Hatfield in Hertfordshire and the tenth Mark 1A aircraft.
