Beech Chopping Board with draw bore tenons made with quartersawn english beech, it was very heavy and unusually hard but I am happy with how it turned out, made entirely with hand tools. This is a Paul Sellers project from woodworkingmasterclasses.

Today, it's more dry and starting to flake, but I'm keeping it from feeling tight with ointment and lotion occasionally. I'm going to switch exclusively lotion tomorrow. :) it's turning out beautifully thus far. The dark spots have disappeared for now, I just can't wait til it's smooth!

This is part of what's considered the "Formal" entrance to the Grand Promenade/Park located mid-way along the 1/2 mile bricked walkway overlooking Bath House Row.
"Promenades figured prominently in the spa scene. In the 19th century, the huge hotels in the city had spacious grounds where walkways provided opportunities to show off peacock finery. People flaunted St. Louis fashions in front of the bathouses and at the fountains."
Back in it's day, above the (50 million) steps going up, was lush, tiered flower beds and a pavillion located up on the hill towing over the entrance. Above the steps now is just remnants of the past and the tiered flower beds along with the pavillion no longer exist.
I, personally, wonder how they ever made it up all those stairs in their "finery" without breaking a leg or dropping from the heat.

Overused and under-appreciated. Stepped on and often overlooked. The emblem on this well-worn floating dock, serves as a subtle reminder of a time, long since passed when nations came together to challenge each other on the still waters of Lake Casitas.
Next time you visit a "floating" dock, look down and perhaps be reminded of the legacy set forth by past Olympians who continue to serve as faithful paragons of what we strive to be and an inspiration to us all.
