There were three eagles menacing this flock of America coots off shore of Penticton Beach. My first instinct for those coots is to get out of Dodge. There are plenty of other water sources in the area, why pick the one with a family of eagles. The eagles were at it every evening, like clockwork just after sunset - Doge City. This particular evening they came up empty despite many dives with talons down in amongst the flock. The coots were terrified the eagles coming at them from different directions.

Questo mobile fu costruito sotto il portico della cascina "Baraccone" a Pontecurone, interamente dal nonno Pipé (Giuseppe Taverna) quando aveva terminato il servizio militare nei bersaglieri, circa un secolo fa. Nel medaglione centrale, sopra la foto del Papa, c'é una fotografia del nonno con la divisa da bersagliere.

Vi si trovavano botteghe di artigiani e di negozianti di oggetti preziosi. Era intesa anche "via dell'Argenteria nuova" per distinguerla dalla limitrofa "via dell'Argenteria vecchia", e nel Medioevo era conosciuta col nome di ruga Catalanorum (via dei Catalani). Oggi orafi e argentieri si sono trasferiti nel tratto terminale della via Meli, tra piazza S, Giacomo la Marina e piazza S. Domenico.
Al n. 45 della via, fino ad alcuni anni fa esisteva il famoso "Ingrosso alimentari Al Coccodrillo", al cui soffitto era appeso un coccodrillo imbalsamato, che una antica leggenda voleva essere stato catturato nelle acque del fiume Papireto.
