Coming out of the hardware lot, I thought this was a neat view of the store
Even though I left NE Ohio years ago, I still try to stay on top of the news up that way. I mean, I DID grow up there, after all.
Anyway, I caught a 9/3/2016 article in the Medina Gazette saying that Buehler's in Brunswick could close. Scene 75, an indoor entertainment facility with two Ohio locations, expressed interest in opening a location in the plaza, which would effectively push Buehler's out.
The first article made it sound like it wasn't quite a done deal, but then a Gazette article from 9/7/2016 revealed that Scene 75 had indeed purchased the plaza and plans are going ahead for the indoor entertainment facility. Buehler's originally had a lease that expires in 2018, but they are being asked to leave early so Scene 75 could open.
Still, the future of Buehler's in Brunswick was up in the air, as the last two articles revealed that Buehler's was still evaluating its options. I present you with a 9/26/2016 article from the Wooster Daily Record. Buehler's had evaluated its options and decided the best course of action was to close the Brunswick store, rather than relocate.
A rather crappy Akron Beacon Journal article, also from 9/26, mentioned the store was underperforming. But I take issue with this article from ABJ because it doesn't tell the whole story. I realize newspaper space is at a premium, but I hate the way this piece was written.
Buehler's final day in Brunswick will be October 21, 2016. I have no plans to return to the store, unfortunately, as it's a good 3 hours away from where I live. 2016 hasn't been kind to Buehler's (Delaware closed in February)...I can only hope that their remaining 13 locations continue to do well.

This store was built in 1998, according to county property records. It began its life as a Tops and closed when the chain exited Northeastern Ohio in 2006. Buehler's opened at this location in early 2007 as their first "repurposed" store and renovated the interior in 2009.

My last trip here neglected the hardware entrance. Here is ACE in all of its glory. Interesting fact: the ACE stores at Buehler's, along with a few other odd locations, are owned by the same parent company that owns Buehler's.
