When you're a busy mom like this pretty lady there isn't time to get a professional pedicure. You take things into your own hands......or mouth and hands.

Yet another sad story of broken dreams and failure along the Mother Road...

This photo is of the Oculus transit hub in New York City. The facility cost more than $4 billion to construct, and had a budget overrun of more than $2 billion! Talk about not quite getting the cost estimates right!

I remember when our conferences were held in large hotels and delicious lunches were served.

Now we get shoved into small conference rooms and have to bring our own lunch. At least we got to admire this mural painting showing the most eminent figures in the history of Neurology..

A UK government minister used this expression in parliament last week and I was mystified by what he was on about. This is what I found:

"In the UK, 4.1 million tonnes of food is wasted in the grocery retail supply chain each year. The wasted food is safe, in-date and edible, but isn’t used by major retailers for a variety of reasons, such as faulty packaging and over-ordering.

‘Social supermarkets’ reduce this food waste by selling this ‘waste’ stock at low prices to local people on low incomes who are struggling with food poverty."

Anyway this is my dinner today. Not knowing what you will be able to buy each week makes for some creative cooking!

Agnes: Hey, Dave, can we chat about this calendar thing?

Dave: I think that you look great as the photo for January. The vet college made a great choice choosing you for that page.

Agnes: I do agree that I do look mighty great here.

Dave: Then what is it that you want to discuss?

Agnes: How we're going to deal with my newfound fame.

Dave: Ummm, just like we dealt with everything before you saw the calendar.

Agnes: Really? I don't think that you understand the significance of this event.

Dave: You may be right about that.

Agnes: Of course I'm right. Do you know what this means?

Dave: That your picture is in the WCVM calendar which has a pretty significant distribution across Saskatchewan and beyond.

Agnes: Exactly. I'm famous! I'm Miss January. I'm going to be so famous that it will be like trying to go anywhere with Justin Beiber. This may make our casual strolls in the park more difficult.

Dave: Nothing about your strolls in the park is casual to begin with.

Agnes: And then we're going to have to talk about modelling fees. I'm seeing a sharp increase in your cookie budget in the near future.
