One of the most popular excursion nearly to Hanoi is the Perfume Pagoda (Chua Huong). This Pagoda is a group of pagodas and buddhist temples located on the top of Perfume Mountain (Ha Tay Province). It's 70 kilometres at southwest from Hanoi.

Buddhist Temple Hawaii

Takaosan Yakuou'in (高尾山薬王院) is a Buddhist temple of the Shingon sect situated on the eastern slope of Takaosan (高尾山) or Mt. Takao.

The temple was dedicated to Yakushi-nyorai (薬師如来 Bhaiṣajyaguru) or Medicine King (Yakuou) of Mahayana Buddhism.

Iizuna-gongen (飯綱権現), which is a god of Shugendou (修験道) based in the Iizuna volcano (飯綱山) in Nagano prefecture, was introduced in 14th century to override the Buddhist temple. The temple compound now contains Buddhist and Shintou shrines. The shrine in the photo is called Iizuna-gongen Dou (飯綱権現堂) or Shrine of Iizuna-gongen.

Tengu (天狗) is a specter in the Japanese folk beliefs. It is believed to have a Pinocchio-like long nose or a crow-like beak, wings to fly, and a magical fan to stir winds. He has an ambiguous character; worshiped for its supernatural power, while feared as an evil god.

Iizuna-gongen is a god that has an appearance of a Tengu and considered as the boss of a Tengu group. Fox is his vehicle. He is a god worshipped by Shugendou (修験道), an occult syncretism of Buddhism, Shintoism and folk beliefs.

Note that Iizuna-gongen is bacchant as Sake barrels are donated to the shrine as seen in the photo.

Excerpt from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bongwonsa:

Bongwonsa (Bongwon Temple) is a South Korean Buddhist temple in Bongwon-dong, Seodaemun District, Seoul, South Korea.

It is located at the base of the mountain Ansan. It is the head temple of the Taego Order of Korean Buddhism.

More than 50 monks live at the temple and are engaged in education and social welfare work.

It was founded in 889 by Master Doseon at where Yonsei University is now located. The temple was moved to its present location in 1748.

Part of the temple was destroyed in 1950 during the Korean War. In 1966 a new hall was built, but this was later moved to another part of the city. In 1991, while a new Hall of 3000 Buddhas was being built, a fire destroyed the Main Buddha Hall, which was rebuilt in 1994.

In the garden of the Buddhist Temple one can find 16 white statues. These are the 16 Arhat - the Enlightened ones. In Theravada Buddhism and in Mahayana Buddhism, the Arhat (saint) has attained enlightenment and may choose to guide others or not.

Daishō-in or Daisyō-in is a historic Japanese temple complex with many temples and statues on Mount Misen, the holy mountain on the island of Miyajima, off the coast of Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima, Japan. It is the 14th temple in the Chūgoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage and famous for the maple trees and their autumn colors. It is also called "Suishō-ji". Including Mt. Misen, Daishō-in is within the World Heritage Area of Itsukushima Shrine.

In this temple there is a flame which is said to have been burning since its foundation, for more than 1200 years.

The 14th Dalai Lama visited Itsukushima to celebrate the 1200th-year of Daishō-in from 3 to 8 November 2006
