This is Brisbane from Mt Coot-tha. I was fortunate enough to have fire crackers go off to the right of the frame, for this capture.
Brisbane, my home town.
This capture is looking at the city from Southbank that is across the Brisbane River. The city is much bigger than this capture shows. I will showcase more from different angles in due time.
The bridge is called the Victoria Bridge. Not as iconic and grand as the Story Bridge! They light up the both bridges the same colour each week On this evening, the Victoria Bridge was lit in beautiful teal.
I think it looks good in black and white too!!
A historic photo of this part of Brisbane in March 2016 given the redevelopment (into restaurants and bars) under the left bridge pillar and its immediate surrounds.
More of these fireworks explosions in Magenta, for some reason this was the dominant colour palette captured by my camera this year.
Brisbane is also called River city. When I took some night shots, I realized why.
Brisbane, Queensland. Australia.
This shot is a long exposure of Brisbane City from Kangaroo Point. The light trails are from a group of about 30 Kayaks that were paddling past, each with a single light on the stern ... or maybe the river is full of electric eels!!!
This is the view from my room. Overlooking Brisbane river with South Bank parklands and the new purpose-built government building on the right.
Thanks for looking, have a great week guys!

One from the archives from a few years back from our trip to Queensland. View of downtown Brisbane with the iconic Story Bridge in the foreground. Taken just after the sun had set. I thought that the monochrome "colours" suited the moment at the time. Taken with my Sony A6500 mirrorless camera.
Shot with my Samyang 12mm manual focus wide angle lens.
This is a view of central Brisbane, Australia from across the Brisbane River. I'm standing on the crossover between the Brisbane Performing Arts Center and the Art Museum, looking across Victoria Bridge towards Queen Street Mall, the pedestrian-only main shopping district. Brisbane is mainly built along the course of the river for several kilometers with the river making a series of large "S" curves in the city center. River buses are a lovely way to get around to most of the city center and much of the close-in suburbs.
On a walk with two other photographers who were into some serious late afternoon tripod-mounted shots in this section of the CBD, along the Brisbane River.
Today it’s cold and rainy, so this photo was not taken today but a couple of months ago. I love the fluffy clouds.
As this was taken with a telephoto lens, the Brisbane River cannot be seen in this image. In the centre, however, there are two structures, a white bridge, plus a wheel that is on the banks of the river.
In the background one can just see parts of Moreton Bay, the ultimate destination of our beautiful river.
Captured from the summit of Mt. Coot-tha.
In the 30+ years I have lived in Brisbane, I am amazed with images such as this at how much it has grown ... and come of age.
"Onwards and Upwards"
Australia really is a fantastic Country.
