Indian weddings mark not just the union of two souls but rather union of two families/ communities and hence the larger than life celebrations.. The wedding rituals, customs, food and even the bridal / groom wedding dress, jewelry, makeup and hair do are unique to the cultural community they are a part of..
The bride in picture is wearing a Silk Saree and has a floral hairdo (called floral jaadey) typical of a traditional South Indian wedding. Bridal Saree/ dress in one of the shades of red, yellow or green is generally considered auspicious for the occasion in most of the cultures (not all though) across India though the bride is free to choose any colour.
