When explanations make no sense

When every answer's wrong

You're fighting with lost confidence

All expectations come

The time has come to make or break

Move on don't hesitate

Blend de plusieurs photos montrant l'évasion, la liberté.

It is twelve days since D-Day and the allies are slowly making their way through Normany. Germans are scattered all around trying to push them back. Each hedge-grove is another battle.

Turkey Tom slipped through the open window, his wings brushing against the kitchen's window sill. He landed softly on the rail.

Where would he go? What would he do?

In June I attended an excellent workshop where we learned about and photographed jazz dancers in a studio setup using strobe lighting. Each dancer would repeat a particular move several times, giving us a good chance of catching them at the peak of the action. While this isn't a type of photography I am generally interested in, it was great to experience it and to get a bunch of terrific action shots of dancers in black against a white background. Other images from this workshop can be found here: In Studio.

All the dancers were members of a Los Angeles-based group called JazzAntiqua. The dancer seen in this image is Sarah Platte.

This is the second opportunity I've had to shoot professional dancers in a controlled situation and I feel privileged to live where such opportunities are available. My images of the first workshop, shot on location at Union Station, can be viewed here: Cameras & Dancers.

Yeah I know another 'blooming' lily macro......Sorry but in the absence of daisies it is the best i can do ..... Oh an i like them of course!! ;o)

My local wetlands area was designed to contain excessive flooding in the area following change of land use from farm to suburbia. The creek has been kept but series of wetland ponds designed with overflow areas back into the creek when the water flow is too much to cope. Recently we have had so much rain that my walking path ( top right) was under water, the overflow from one pond to another was running freely (left area). I had taken dawn photos here a couple of days prior! The bottom pipe shows the amount of water running out back into the creek from the last of the ponds.

The time is fast approaching...

I think this is the only photo that I used a Nikon SB 800 Speedlight during the shoot.

I watched helplessly. My friend; More importantly, her Son. Such raw, unashamed emotion is so hard to comprehend.

I feel like I do a lot of Arkham Stuff. Ah well. Here's some redesigns of the cast from the Arkham Asylum Game.

Scarecrow: Wanted it to seem like he made his hood and cape out of his jumpsuit.

Croc: Near-albino Croc is cool. Has the CMF Fox Lady tail bracket with the tail removed, which Duncan did first.

Zsasz: Nothing extraordinary, just a competent Zsasz fig.

Joker: Wanted a radically different Joker than usual, this seemed like a nice balance between new/DKR/weird.

Scarface is an old fig.

Batman is also a pre-existing fig, but de-armed cause his gear wouldn't fit on the gurney.

Doctor Quinzel: Ready to operate.

Ivy: Really wanted to use the CMF Man-Eating plant piece for her but couldn't find a way to utilize it well.

Gordon: Pretty simple, but I dig him. Kinda hard to tell but he's got Hammond's arms.

Bane: The first one of these I had an idea for, and the spiral that these started at. The Tanks just look like 06 Freeze's but in green.

Lemme know what you think!
