Blessed to capture one of these during my trip to Brazil. I don't know why but there were loads of them and I was able to take a picture of one of them with my macro lenses. Loved the pose!
Thank you all for your appreciation.

Pantanal, Brazil - The Ringed Kingfisher is the largest kingfisher in the Americas. Its heavy, pale-based bill, disheveled crest, blue-gray plumage, white collar, and red belly are visible and recognizable even at a distance. Ringed Kingfishers are often conspicuous, searching shallow water for fish from a prominent perch and chattering noisily when disturbed. Singles or pairs are also often observed flying high overhead and giving loud "keck!" contact calls. Like other kingfishers, the Ringed nests in burrows excavated in banks, generally along watercourses. This species occurs in areas with shallow water throughout the Neotropics south to Tierra del Fuego.
A igarape is a watercourse Amazon water first, second or third order, consisting of a long arm river or channel. They exist in large numbers in the Amazon Basin. Characterized by shallow and almost run into the forest. Only small boats such as canoes and small boats, can navagar by the waters of a stream due to its shallow depth and be narrow.
The word was adopted from the Tupi. Literally means "canoe route" through the junction of ygara terms (canoe) and loveto (path)
Characteristics:-
Most streams have dark waters similar to the Black River, a major tributary of the Amazon River, carrying little sediment. They are navigable by small boats and canoes and play an important role as transport and communication.
Amazonian streams are an integral and essential part in the functioning of the forest, because they work as ecological corridors, linking forest fragments and facilitating displacement of wildlife and gene flow between populations of species of animals and plants.
Today I want to honor my beloved Brazil!
Brazil is not what you see but what you feel. Once you spend time here – a week, two weeks – you get in the vibe. It’s really intoxicating.

The most beautiful thing about Brazil that I always find that is so unlike any other place I’ve been in the world is the diversity of its people.

Brazil has people in some places with such difficult situations. They prefer to smile than cry because they love life. They love to be happy. That’s Brazilian style.
