I took this in March, just as the trees were getting tiny buds....which are now all lush with green leaves.

A White Squirrel travels along the forest floor in the safety of many branches for protection from predators and photographers ,haa haa!

A Great Blue Heron delivers another stick to the nest!
There are at least a dozen active heron nests at the GB heron rookery, and I counted 16 herons perched on or near their nests.
I've posted a shot of the moon taken on the same angle as this shot, but focusing on the moon and phasing out the branches. Always fun to experiment and see how photos turn out being completely hand held... been working on my breathing as, as you know to have any chance of clarity with maximum focus and no movements without the use of tripod. The blue sky made this such a compelling shot to try and get. "When the moon hits your eye... la da da da da..."
