A cloudy winter day, no more snow and the rain begins tonight. The bare trees soon will begin showing the first leaves of Spring.

Thanks for your visit and comments, much appreciated!

Take a walk... breathe the cold air...

Listen to your steps... Hear the crunching leaves and snapping branches... and listen to the wind...

Take a break and lean your back against a tree... Close your eyes... listen to your breath...

There is something else...

Can you hear the tales whispered by the trees?...

All those secrets from the past... but also the gentle promise of a future...

Open your eyes and look up...

The branches reach out to the sun... and connect whispering softly:

"We are here... We have your back"...

Just a bit of fun for HSS~ Pittville boating lake bridge on a beautiful March day~

And though our roots belong to the same tree, our branches have grown in different directions.

I took this in March, just as the trees were getting tiny buds....which are now all lush with green leaves.

A Great Blue Heron delivers another stick to the nest!

There are at least a dozen active heron nests at the GB heron rookery, and I counted 16 herons perched on or near their nests.

I've posted a shot of the moon taken on the same angle as this shot, but focusing on the moon and phasing out the branches. Always fun to experiment and see how photos turn out being completely hand held... been working on my breathing as, as you know to have any chance of clarity with maximum focus and no movements without the use of tripod. The blue sky made this such a compelling shot to try and get. "When the moon hits your eye... la da da da da..."
