Could have been a project for Sliders Sunday as I had a lot of work with the white background. I have this faux leather piece with leather patterns on it but they hardly ever look good on a picture, so I tried to blur them out. More work than I expected and the bowl got blurry too. I liked that effect because everything looked even more blue and the shadows of the bowl look milky somehow so I left it.

Everyone who is affected by fatigue and chronic pain I am sending you healing thoughts

'Bowl of Beauty' Peony is famous for its huge, hot-pink outer petals that surround a soft and frilly ivory-yellow center, with each bloom measuring up to 10" across.

One of the most attractive peonies available, and one of my faves to photograph ..

Taken with the Nikon 50 MM 1.4 lens wide open.

Dave finally finished his bowl made out of rocks. Petoskey stones and many other assortment of rocks. Seen a Youtube how to do this and it worked. I filled with fruit and sure looks nice on the table on the front porch.

I love droplets :-)

Just a photo I took looking into a bowl at the MFA in Boston.

I had just washed the fruit bowl out and put it back on the table when Fifi decided it made a nice bed

For Macro Mondays theme; "plastic".

I was going to title this "Life is just a bowl of cherries" - but since we are all going through a pandemic at this time - it just didn't seem appropriate.

Stay safe and healthy everyone, and a big HMM to all.

Fascinating to see the Goldfinches pull the seeds from the head of a drooping Sunflower and then arrange an all you can eat buffet on the back of the flower which forms a natural bowl.

Major and I hiked a couple of waterfall trails in the Columbia Gorge. This was one of our destinations, very popular, a lot of people there and swimming up to the falls. We hung out a few hours waiting for the sun to shade the gorge a bit, and it really cleared out for about 15 min. Enough to capture it with no people before the next wave of hikers showed up.

Erysimum Bowles Mauve has done better for me this year as I remembered to keep cutting it back!

So it's still flowering now.

My morning cereal bowl and a tea-spoon.

This started off as a simple idea! - KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)

Like a lot of simple ideas, it didn't turn out quite as simple in practice! No real issues with lighting - just a single desk lamp -

Issues though with focus!

I would have liked the focus on the rim of the bowl to 'be inline' with the focus on the tip of the spoon - and I've just missed out! The bowl needs to be a bit further away from the camera than it is - how much? Probably 2-3 mm. And then the perspective changes !!!

I lined everything up by eye and I always find it difficult to reconcile what I see and what the camera sees - and it shows again here. It doesn't help with the camera tripod being right against the table-top either. I can never get my eye in the same place as my camera lens.

There wasn't any 'real' colour in the objects and very little possibility of getting any into the picture in the right place - wherever that might be! So I didn't try.
