It is however a screenshot of the main gate to Canadian Forces Base St. Jean Richelain, Quebec. Our youngest son William will be sworn in Wednesday morning and flying east to Quebec next Saturday and spending a few months or more in boot camp before going off to seamanship school for the Royal Canadian Navy and then to take up initial training in his chosen trade of hull-tech. He is the fourth consecutive generation of Allans to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Boot Monument is an American Revolutionary War memorial. Located in Saratoga National Historical Park, New York, it commemorates Major General Benedict Arnold's service at the Battles of Saratoga in the Continental Army, but contrives not to name him.
The monument commemorates Arnold's contribution to the Continental Army's victory over the British in the Battle of Saratoga. Arnold was wounded in the foot during the Battle of Quebec, and suffered further injury in the Battle of Ridgefield when his horse was shot out from under him. His last battle injury was at Saratoga, and it occurred near where this monument is located at Tour Stop #7 - Breymann Redoubt. The leg wound effectively ended his career as a fighting soldier.

This is a simple three light setup in the studio. I used a Snoot to get spot lighting on certain areas of the boot, and soft boxes to get a even and soft cover of light. The brief for the project was to capture a simple product photo and edit it into a advert. ( These are unedited original photos )
Another one of my new friends had a birthday, couldn't resist doing something boot camp inspired after she's taken to it with so much vigour. On saturday's we train near a beach I tried to be creative and write her name in the "sand"!

The boot Düsseldorf is the biggest boat and watersports trade fair worldwide. More than 1.900 exhibitors from 68 countries will present their interesting products and novelties. More than 57 percent of the exhibitors are international. Over the course of nine days the boot Düsseldorf invites visitors to enjoy the entire world of watersports in 16 different halls. The trade fair is opened daily between 10am and 6pm. Tickets are available online on the official homepage www.boot.de and can easily be printed out at home to prevent queue time. The tickets do not only serve as an admission to the fair grounds but also as metro and bus ticket in the VRR region in and around Düsseldorf.
