A few years ago, I took a photo of the GO Train passing on through this area and noted (in a roundabout way, I su'pose) that the worker responsible for replacing burnt-out headlights wasn't doing his/her job: GO 1. Well, it appears that not a hell of a lot has changed!
This is another pano from the other night that, when I stitched it in Hugin, it went all kind of wonky-like. However imperfect that it is, due to my shooting technique no doubt, I rather like it.
"Herr Brückner! Herr Brückner! Paging Herr Reinhard Brü..."
"Hey! Do me a favor and stop yelling my name all over this restaurant. Do I go around yelling your name?"
"Herr Brückner!"
"Is your voice changing, or is somebody else paging me?"

Quite significative this boom barrier. It was put up very recently by the municipality. I took the photo from the Mellanberg property, (abandoned dairy farm), looking down at the brand new Vega City.
During my visit, a California Surfliner heading for L.A. just happened to pull into the station.
The San Juan Capistrano station was originally opened October 27, 1894 by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. It was one of the earliest examples of Mission Revival Style architecture in railway stations. In 1966, the station was closed, two years ahead of the end of Santa Fe passenger service to the city. Under the auspices of Amtrak, rail service was restored to the station in 1974, and a year later, the depot was converted into a restaurant, with vintage rolling stock used to expand the space. In 1995, the complex received a refurbishment, ending up with two restaurants, one located in the depot building, as well as Amtrak ticketing services and a waiting room, located in two boxcars. This man, jumping a train crossing near Bari, came angrily towards our car after he spotted me shooting a picture of him doing so. His companion, who tried to jump the crossing too, actually had to back away to avoid an oncoming train. I also don't like being on that side of the lens, but I don't do incredibly stupid things in public either...
In North America, the conductor manages a freight, passenger, or other type of train, and directly supervises the train crew, which can include a brakeman, flagman, ticket collector, assistant conductor, and on board service personnel, and is responsible for the movement of the train. The conductor is in charge of the passengers and overall operation of the train, while the engineer, also known as the train driver, is responsible for operating the locomotive and ensuring the train travels safely and efficiently.

Does Wills Hill, the Earl of Hillsborough, the British Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1768 to 1772, deserve to have LIFEGIVING WATER named in his honor all these centuries after he finally died?
Of course not! We should forget his name!

This view instantly makes me think of the Pixar short movie - and I even saw a very gull fledgling that was ugly and clumsy enough to fit the role as the large bird.
I have time to share a few more of the pictures from my Sunday walk at the harbour before I have to leave home

An automatic boom barrier system is a security device used to control and restrict vehicle access to a specific area. It consists of a metal boom arm that is raised and lowered by an automated mechanism, typically triggered by a control panel or access control system.
The boom arm acts as a physical barrier that prevents unauthorized vehicles from entering a restricted area such as a parking lot, entrance or exit gate, toll booth, or a secure facility. It can be installed in various locations and is often used in conjunction with other security measures like CCTV cameras and access control systems.
The control panel or access control system manages the operation of the boom barrier, allowing authorized vehicles to pass through while denying access to unauthorized vehicles. Access can be granted through various means, including key cards, RFIDs, proximity sensors, or biometric systems.
The automated mechanism of the boom barrier system enables smooth and efficient operation, with the boom arm being raised or lowered in a matter of seconds. This ensures minimal disruption to traffic flow, while still providing a high level of security.
Overall, an automatic boom barrier system is an effective security solution for controlling vehicle access to a specific area, providing a secure and efficient way to manage traffic and ensure the safety of the premises.
