at sunset we came across a small group of young juvenile male Zebra...they were skittish and mischievous, I peered through the trees with my camera and caught these two in a special moment...

Northern Gannets are very gentle and affectionate towards their partners. Sometimes the lifelong bond between the breeding partners seems almost tangible.
Basstölpelpaare gehen sehr zärtlich miteinander um - zwischen ihnen wird die lebenslange Bindung fast greifbar.
I spent two days photographing in the Bond Falls area last week. Bond Falls is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Watersmeet. A generous man let us camp behind his resort, plug into his electricity, and use the resort bathrooms. There are great people out there.
I used my tripod and polarizer to slow down the water---the color and light was a gift.

This pup's best chance is a strong bond with it's mom. This mama seems to have a very good one with her pup. She helped it in every way she could. I observed a lot of bonding activity including the pup riding on her back. You can see how difficult it is for the pup to stay on the log.
This image is just a humble but wholehearted tribute to the man I have admired most in my life. I took it just four days before he passed away at age 93. The metastasis in his brain had him unsettled and delirious during the last few days of his life, and holding his hand seemed to give him peace, at least for a short while. When I see this photo a hint of sorrow certainly hits me, but the overwhelming feeling is gratitude to this unaffected yet great man I had the privilege to call “dad” for more than fifty years.
I love bonding
I cherish the ones I have around me
Using my time is what I do
I don't buy stuff
I only give my time
And when I give my time
I never read newspapers or watch tv or am on my computer or my phone
Then I'm all there
For You
And for the new You
There will be more loved ones to cherish, to bond to
I look forward to that
But I'm happy with what I have
I never ask for more
Today I'm SuperEvaThrilled
Bonding time is on
A new one is arriving in my familiy

Just back from a great trip to the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan. We were fortunate to hit "peak" fall color which was as good as any we have seen in the Northwoods (smile!).
Shown here is picturesque Bond Falls (upper falls) in Michigan's upper peninsula.

Yes, we have been evacuated again. This fire is closer to where we live. It was started when SCE shut the power off. Some guy who had not been maintaining his generator, switched it on: it exploded.
We're fine. The cats are fine.
Bonding Ritual?
Even though I could not see a nest or chicks, I watched this pair of Black-necked Stilts very aggressively defending a small island at Bombay Hook NWR. If shorebirds landed close by one would fly off to chase them away, if a gull or Osprey got too close both would chase it away.
Besides this, on two or three occasions when there was no intruder, the pair flew up almost vertically close together, calling loudly then glided back to the island. I am speculating that this interesting behavior might perhaps be a bonding ritual.

PS Yesterday others spotted their chick on the island
On our way to Keeweenau Peninsula, we saw a sign for Bond Falls. Having seen this on Flickr before, I knew it was worth a stop even though we were in a hurry.
Someone else was in a hurry too, just saw on a U.P. website that someone had left a camera and tripod there.
Bond Falls in Upper MIchigan is probably one of the most beautiful falls I have seen. It is a series of falls and each one is unique and beautiful.
