Generation 1 Insecticons!
Added articulation and paint to bring these guys into the 21st century. The Insecticons were my favorite transformers as a kid, so I thought I'd give them some updates and love.
Kickback has added articulation in his shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, waist, thighs, knees, and head.
Bombshell has articulation added to his shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands/fingers, waist, thighs, and knees.
Shrapnel has added articulation to his shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, waist, thighs, ankles, and knees
A first shoot for Mariana and a great job she did. She was a total natural as she understands no English and my Spanish direction is crap. Easily one of my favorite shoots ever. Shot September 22, 2011.
This was our first trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival for this season. The theme was Barbarian and many people dressed the part. We spent the day hunting down old friends, checking out some shows, and also met some new people. Great day and one of the few good things about Texas.
The TRF takes place in Todd Mission, near Plantersville, about 50 miles NW of Houston. It is enormous - Saturdays can see over 40,000 people. I took these photos in early November 2016.

Constructed using many couture techniques and spiral steel boning, following an awesome online course at Craftsy.com with Gertie of Gertie's New Blog For Better Sewing. I've blogged about this make here: didyoumakethat.wordpress.com/2011/10/24/the-gertie-bombsh...

Generations legends class Bombshell in his insect mode.
While an interesting design, Bombshell is a weak figure overall.

I decided to have some fun with Rene and the Herve Leger harness belt this weekend. I love all the wigs that came with this doll, but i think the blonde one is the best. Very classy and it reminds of Gwen Stefani's hair in the Aviator.
