ero lì con le gambe a penzoloni e guardavo decine di vele colorate scivolare sull'acqua e quelle quattro nuvole sospese nel blu del cielo.
Sorrido ancora di quel momento.
La prima neve giunge sulle Dolomiti della Valle del Boite, in questi tempi, nel mese di novembre. In una notte o in un giorno grigio e uggioso, la montagna si trasfigura ed assume un aspetto magico. Candidi veli ne avvolgono i dirupi, ma a stupire l'osservatore umano non è solo quello, ma il blu assoluto con cui, lo stesso candore, tinge indirettamente il cielo ..... ..
The old adage of if you don't succeed try, try again is well known to those shooting landscapes and cityscapes. We've all encountered the time when the weather, the sun, the clouds, the city lights, or maybe all of the above just don't want to cooperate when you're trying to get that perfect shot. If we're lucky we get to go back to try again and hope the next opportunity turns out better.
That's the story of this beautiful area along False Creek in Vancouver overlooking Science World and BC Place stadium. I was hoping to get a decent blue hour shot here and luckily was in Vancouver for 4 days which allowed for multiple attempts. On the first attempt the rain came pouring down right around when sunset was supposed to be through blue hour. The second attempt I was very hopeful. It was Victoria Day, a major holiday in Canada, and the weather was going to be wonderful! My hopes were up dreaming of fireworks and the Science World dome with amazing lights... only to find no fireworks and most of the dome lights off with only a small section in red... Luck was on my side on the 3rd try with the dome fully lit with a cool purple! Eureka! Third time turned out to be a charm :)

Blu (Blue)
I wrote a letter in blue;
This is a letter without beginning or end.
It is written in silent blue;
It is a letter without borders,
Immaterial as our moods,
Elusive as these distant lights.
I wrote a letter in night blue.
It is a story of a dream, felt,
That you read with your eyes closed, in the evening air,

Kristiansand, Norway
The Otra is the largest river in the Sørlandet region of Norway. It begins in Setesdalsheiene mountains at the lake Breidvatnet in Bykle municipality in Agder county, just south of the border with Vinje municipality in Telemark county.
The river then flows south through Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Evje og Hornnes, Iveland, Vennesla, and Kristiansand municipalities.
The river empties into the Skagerrak in the center of the city of Kristiansand on the southern coast of Norway.
The Otra is 245 kilometres (152 mi) long, making it Norway's eighth-longest river. There are many large lakes along the river including: Åraksfjorden, Byglandsfjorden, Hartevatnet, and Kilefjorden. There are 12 hydroelectric power plants built along the river, which produce much of the electricity for the southern part of Norway.
The salmon do well in the Otra river because the water is not too acidic. The calcareous rocks in the catchment area at the northern end of the Setesdal valley give the water a certain buffer capacity against acidification. wikipedia
