“Non-violence is a great philosophy, and must always be the first resort, but sometimes you have to ...be a little bit more active to get things done” (cit.)

location: "The Wall of Freedom"✊
I loved you on Juneteenth as you watched the Black Lives Matters activists sing "Lift Every Voice and Sing" through the Chicago streets and I'll love you every day afterwards. Dear human, I noticed you were very moved and felt deeply to be part of this experience even from your elevated position and I felt so moved to see your presence.
Dear human, I love the way your eyes convey so much even from down here. I love the strength in your gesture and your steadiness. It is not philosophy that can separate us. We have a world to change but it is indeed already changing. The future is different now and dear human, I love you for being in it. I love you so much.

My wife dancing with african street artists in Cologne. I dedicate this picture to GEORGE FLOYD, who died cause of ignorance and racism. WE ARE ALL WITH YOU!!!
This foto was taken in the historic city center of João Pessoa, Brasil, in one of the oldest streets. Life is not easy in such places, social racism and racism against color of the skin and minorities still determine every day's routine. So I want to give a voice to all those people..., you matter, you are wonderful human beings, you deserve it!!!
Let us stand together for a better, peaceful world!!!
In Brazil, social racism and racism against black and indian people (colour) still determine everyday life. So I want to give a voice to all this marginalized people, they are wonderful human beeings and deserve it!!! Let us fight all together for a better world!!!

He came to my university's Black Power Week in 1969.
I clearly remember that he had a powerful aura about him; definitely larger than life. He did a salute, and I wondered how he could find a boxing glove big enough to fit his massive fist.
Rest in peace, butterfly and bee, poet and warrior.
buenas noche!
This fading haunting mural is remained of the EAST at 10 Claver Place in Brooklyn . A center and school for the Black community in NYC. I used to walk by as a youth and wonder what went on in this building that was was so powerful that it had pictures like this in the outside walls; even in a state of decay it was educating those who would pass by. I am pleased to have captured this historic image. Honor and respect to those who worked and sacrificed to build that organization for us.
Shot with Fuji S 400 C41 film.
Back from Brasil, João Pessoa, Brasil, where I had a wonderful time. I met this beautiful young lady at the event, sabadinho bom, which happens every saturday in the historic city center of João Pessoa. We did together a spontaneous outdoor shooting with fantastic results, I loved to work with you Lisi!!

(Deep within there is a panther in us all)
I was doing brackets as this situation evolved. She didn't hold the pose for 3 exposures so I had to use the darkest and then up the exposure by 1.5 stop in post. Therefore we have some noise going on. However... It was to cool of a shot to pass on..
Nothing else is done in post. Some clarity added on the building. The antennas and the cctv I usually edit out are left as they are here.
This is the Oslo Opera House. The box is the curtain building. This is where the scene curtain is raised into. The public are allowed to walk freely around the roof of the building.
See below for same spot and an earlier production.
A really old piece by Heesco in Cremorne, but one that I have never photographed because of parked cars.
It depicts Australian Olympic runner Peter Norman in the famous 1968 Olympics Black Power salute photograph, which occurred during the medal ceremony for the 200-metre event (Norman took the Silver medal). He wore a badge of the Olympic Project for Human Rights in support of fellow athletes John Carlos and Tommie Smith.
Lucy Terry Prince was taken to Rhode Island from Africa. She married Abijah Prince with whom she had six children. Two of their sons would serve in the American Revolution. Her only surviving work, Bars Fight (1746), is the earliest existing poem by an African-American.

This cam is a toy made with a can of 'bucanero', a cuban beer ... Their lack of resources leads to boost their creativity and to recycling almost anything.
We spoke out. We marched at a time when we didn’t know if it would kill us and it was all because we couldn’t imagine that we could continue to live in a world so cruel as to not see the value in Black joy, talent, ideas, sorrow, stories, traditions, and identities. And, in most cities across America, budgets have not significantly changed to put more money into communities instead of policing. The only tool a cop has is a gun and the badge is his/her/their get out of jail free card. Why do we expect anything different to happen in America if we pour more money into police budgets and reforms that clearly don’t work instead of putting money into public education, job opportunities, the elimination of food deserts, equitable housing and health care, and mental health clinics? Do we really want to be a country where only rich white people survive?
Black Lives Still Matter…they still matter to me every day.
In my own city, our mayor lied about not being aware of a wrongful raid of a social worker in which her home was violated and she was naked. (Anjanette Young). Apparently, this is a pretty regular occurrence:

Here’s how Wall Street profits from police brutality and America’s violent yet lucrative (for some) tradition of white supremacy:

Every day we don’t demand change is a day wasted when we were not our best selves. Humans are still dying out there and we need to vote out those who only protect some of the population and leave the rest to be murdered. So, Trump will soon be gone…will Biden be any better? We must insist that it is so! Humans who are Black are not suddenly white and they still need kindness, protection, love, and policies that look out for them.

My good Brother holds the book 'Been in the Storm so Long - the Aftermath of Slavery' inside a bookstore at the Brooklyn famous Albee Square Mall. Circa 1990
This was time when historical books were not just dusted off for Black History month; there was a definite thirst in the community to seek knowledge, wisdom and understanding about our lost history and culture and apply it in their everyday lifestyles.
