Nearing the Birmingham, Michigan depot is a late running eastbound train #420 running from Flint to Toledo, with hot auto frame loads up front including some on 50 ft. flats. Those loads would soon be riding only on rack equipped 86 ft. flats as on the first car on the train. The usual clean pair of SD40's 5910 and 12 are leading GP18 4702 this morning on the Holly Subdivision in the northern Detroit suburbs - April 16, 1976.
Arena Birmingham (previously known as The Barclaycard Arena and the National Indoor Arena) is an indoor sporting and entertainment venue in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The Arena, owned by parent company, the NEC Group, is situated in central Birmingham. When it was opened in 1991, it was the largest indoor arena in the UK.
The arena hosts a variety of events including concerts, business conferences and exhibitions. It has a capacity of up to 15,800 using both permanent seating and temporary seating configurations.
The NIA was officially opened on 4 October 1991 by the athlete Linford Christie.

Earlier in the year I did a set of abstract reflections from Venice. So it only seemed fitting to try and do the same from the other canal city during my visit. These are all taken around Gas Street Basin.
People tend to take photos of the same buildings in Birmingham, UK over and over again so thought I'd start trying my hand shooting the buildings rarely seen
Yesterday was a fabulous day. I received feedback on my first uni assignment (I passed, with better marks than I wished for) and I spent the evening Ice Skating, taking photographs and having a lovely time at the Birmingham Christmas Market.
Outside Birmingham market there is this beautiful giant ferris wheel and obviously I had to take a photograph of it. I needed to capture the amazing colours being lit on it and reflected from all the surfaces I walked past. The spirit of Christmas was high in Birmingham last night and the Christmas spirit is continuing to stay with me!
