Oh, the cheek! How could greedy Tyranno dare try stealing Veloci's beloved potato crisp?!? "Try" being the operative word, because never in the whole world would she let him have it. Ever! Lashing around furiously, her tail was ready to punch him right in the eye. "Go buy your own bag of potato crisps, you lazy bully! This isn't even your favourite variety!", she hissed. "But Veloci, darling", Tyranno cooed, "you know how I like to sleep in on New Year's Eve, and the shops closed at 2 p. m., and now it's a quarter past two... How can I properly celebrate New Year's Eve without potato crisps? Please share, there are enough crisps for the two of us. And it's much more fun to binge-watch all of the Jurassic Park franchise movies together. And afterwards, we could watch all the Alien movies. Come on, Veloci, dear, it will be so much fun!" "Hmpf. Maybe you are right. Watching the movies alone is not fun at all. But I get to sit in your arms the entire time! And next time you buy the crisps!"
There are quite a few guilty pleasures included already in the story above. And there are a few more in this photo: Keeping, and foremost buying things I don't need but might be useful one day for an MM theme, like these two dinosaur figures I didn't own before I became an MM member. Other guilty pleasures included in the image are: over-processing my photos, using over-saturated colours, writing weird stories...
I did in-camera focus stacking but brought a little blur back in Helicon Focus because I wanted some sense of motion in the image. Size-wise, this is pretty much maxed out, I arranged my little scene so that it was just a little less than three inches.

During this time of COVID-19, my tv watching is at an all-time high.
The message: Stay home to save lives.
With 4 sets of eyes, Blythe's always watching something. So whether it's the weird goings on at your neighbour's house, the wildlife in the garden or bingewatching a favourite series, show us what your Blythe's got an eye on.
The rules:
1. Take a photo of your Blythe(s) watching something.
2. Blythe dolls only please, no clones.
3. No photoshop to meet challenge requirements.
4. One photo per person but mosaics / collages are welcomed so long as all the pictures fit the rules.

During a partial lockdown and when the weather is less interesting to go out and about the only thing you can think of is binge watching. Prime Video of Amazon seems to be the answer.
Combino 2097 on line 14 in a beautiful autumn setting on the Insulindeweg. Just left Flevopark. A well-known tram fan and colleague had the same idea as me to photograph this tram here (at right).
The 2097 was delivered to the GVB on 20/08/2003 and first put into service on line 4 on 12/09/2003.

This series "Post-Nature" uses my original photography layered with discarded man-made plastic detritus to reflect our collective disregard for the Earth as we doomscroll and bingewatch the Fall of Rome on reality tv. We have so distanced ourselves from mother nature that, shrink-wrapped as we are, we forget that we are her children, made of the same raw materials as the trees, the rivers, the stars.
Surely there’s some obscure old word in an ancient language for this feeling that those of us alive and awake at this moment in time have...to hold both beauty and heartbreak in the palm of one hand.
Microplastic pollution has reached every part of the planet, from the summit of Mount Everest to the deepest oceans. People are already known to consume the tiny particles via food and water, and to breathe them in.
Their effect in the body is yet unknown but scientists say there is an urgent need to assess the issue, particularly for infants. In October, scientists revealed that babies fed formula milk in plastic bottles are swallowing millions of particles a day.
Microplastic particles have been revealed in the placentas of unborn babies for the first time, which the researchers said was “a matter of great concern”.
“It is like having a cyborg baby: no longer composed only of human cells, but a mixture of biological and inorganic entities,” said Antonio Ragusa, director of obstetrics and gynecology at the San Giovanni Calibita Fatebenefratelli hospital in Rome, and who led the study published in the journal Environment International.

Dear Prozac05, here comes the latest addition to the series. Wow. 16! You are reaching an age that I remember myself quite well. Felt like an adult back then when turning 16. You certainly look like one now. Not everything went perfect for you recently (like braking your foot on the first day of holidays and then being limited in range and activities for the whole holidays period.) But you also showed an impressive amount of acceptance and optimism in this time, always looking for the upsides (like being able to bingewatch 1000 series on Netflix, Prime and Disney+ ;-)) Today is not only your birthday but also your first day in a new school in a new canton. So lots of changes coming up but I am very confident that you will handle this all just as well and cool as you did before. Despite now being in the age of rebellion I think we are quite lucky and real clashes are still seldom. Let us hope it stays this way. Again like every year I can only say: Continue to be who you are. I love you.
Strobist Info: The off-camera flash 580 EX II is shot with full power through the Neewer softbox left in front of the subject pointing down at 45°.The Yongnuo 568 with its own diffusor was behind the subject pointing into the wall to blow out the background (which was then replaced with the same grey gradient that I use as background every year.

Today I never made it out of the house, but because I have to post something, I submit this photo I took of my laptop screen with my iPhone and a borrowed Moment fisheye lens. I have been binge-watching HBO's 'The New Pope," which I enjoy for its visual lushness and color and for the elaborately choreographed pageantry and tableaus of Paulo Sorrentino, the writer/director. This is Cardinal Voiello (Silvio Orlando) the scheming Vatican Secretary of State, who is about to go all Mafia don on another conniving cardinal. If I were going to pick a scene it would have been one with elaborate costumes, but it was this one by chance, and it made me laugh ("defrock" is such a funny word.) So here it is. Margo and I just recently got Netflix - we finally watched Breaking Bad. It only took us a couple months to "binge" watch it! It was terrific - similar to a Tolstoy novel in that the characters truly grow and evolve as time passes.

We found this Coronavirus puzzle in a charity shop yesterday for the princely sum of £1. At that price I had to have it, if only for its novelty value. Started it this morning and finished this afternoon due to the letters A to F printed on the reverse making it childishly simple to complete. I sorted into piles of each letter and assembled it in 6 sections. Thin pieces, so they kept moving about during assembly, but once it was finished it held together well enough. There's been a rash of puzzles emerging from China during the pandemic, mainly rubbish quality and probably overpriced, but we've found a few reasonable ones in charity shops at silly prices to feed our addiction.
