I took this on the way back to the car the other night. I had the tripod and the fisheye, so I took this 15 second exposure. I got lucky with tail lights going away and no headlight coming at me.
Risking life and limb to get a snapshot of this BMW 650i while I was speeding along the I-75, hahaha.
BMW 2002 Turbo
Das unter der Code BMW E20 entwickelte Modell mit 170 PS maximaler Motorleistung war (noch vor dem Porsche 911 Turbo) das erste in Serie hergestellte deutsche Auto mit Abgasturbolader.
In der Öffentlichkeit wurde der im Herbst 1973, mitten in der ersten Ölkrise, vorgestellte BMW 2002 turbo sofort wegen seines hohen Benzinverbrauchs kritisiert; ebenso wie der auf Wunsch auf dem Frontspoiler in Spiegelschrift angebrachte Schriftzug "turbo 2002", der in der Presse als „Kriegsbemalung“ tituliert wurde.
Von September 1973 bis November 1974 wurden nur 1672 Fahrzeuge hergestellt, die ab Werk lediglich in den BMW-Farben Polaris-metallic und Chamonix (Silber bzw. Weiß) erhältlich waren. In heutiger Kaufkraft und Währung entspricht der bei Produktionsende 1974 verlangte Preis von 20.780 DM aktuell einer Summe von 29.900 Euro.

The BMW 2002 Turbo was launched at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show. This was BMW's first turbocharged production car and the first turbocharged car since General Motors' brief offerings in the early 1960s. It produced 127 kW (170 hp) at 5,800 rpm, (p162) with 240 N·m (180 lb·ft) of torque. The 2002 Turbo used the 2002 tii engine with a KKK turbocharger and a compression ratio of 6.9:1 in order to prevent engine knocking. Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection was used, with a sliding throttle plate instead of the usual throttle butterfly. The 2002 Turbo was introduced just before the 1973 oil crisis, therefore only 1,672 were built.

IMSA Michelin GT Challenge -VIR
Team RLL with 2 podium positions this weekend. The 24 placed 3rd while the sister car, the 25, took 1st overall.
Good on them to have a decent finish finally but they were assisted a little bit with a small GTLM field... only 6 of 8 finished the race. Really wish the GTLM field would get a little bigger give some more competition.

Strobist: Since this was slow shutter speed. I used cont. lighting. Custom white balanced and drove around the light. creating a nice and even lighting around the car.
