At a friend's BBQ, one of he guests had some amazing tattoos, of which, I really liked this eye that was on his inner bicep. Part of my Unusual Album flickr.com/photos/22666370@N08/sets/72157668650899833
Profondément ancrés en eux;
Leurs tentacules aux noirs réseaux
Arthritiques et compliqués
Prennent un air de barbelés
Qui voudraient enlaidir
L'azur.
C'est beau, de les voir s'empoigner
Et tournoyer, comme honteux
De leur aspect hivernal, brut,
Perclus
De colère noueuse.

Haven't had a chance to edit the rest of the Zion pictures, but I have a backlog of photos from the last two month that still need to be posted.
Fun shot from the gym. This is my first Flickr photo with my Yasicha Auto Yashinon-DX 50mm f/1.4.
This is an outtake from my shooting blind photo session. I walked ahead of Jasper and my wife, Jean, with my camera down by my ankle and pointed generally in their direction. Sometimes makes for so interesting compositions. As you can see, Jasper’s enjoying himself. And as you can see, Jean’s been working out. Check out that bicep!
They ran a 45 cm pick line from my bicep direct to the heart. This should help the various antibiotics achieve their goal more efficiently.. I have. genuine hope now to get home to do the remaining 28 days.. 12 nights admitted now after 5 days and visits sitting in an emergency location. Thanks all for checking in and I'll update when I'm in my own bed.

People historically associate baseball with the United States of America. This image includes parts of a Tommy John-signed baseball card and Major League baseball. Tommy John surgery was named after this player...he was the first patient who ever had part of his bicep added to his elbow so he could resume his playing career as a MLB pitcher.
This image shows the 10m microwave telescope SPT and the smaller BICEP telescope together with the Moon at South Pole. Both experiments are measuring the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) to study the beginning of the Universe.
The Dark Sector at South Pole houses three main science buildings: MAPO, SPT and IceCube.
Huge news recently came from a project housed in SPT (South Pole Telescope). The project, BICEP2, discovered evidence of the rapid expansion of the universe (essentially lingering gravity waves from the Big Bang). SPT is the building in the back with the huge telescope. The building in the foreground is MAPO and looks at similar things as SPT does.
Ice Cube is not in the image. Ice Cube has hundreds of 'doms' in the ice that detect neutrinos.

My colleague James Casey had to go out to the IceCube Lab (ICL) here at South Pole, after a power supply failed. So he had to go out to the Dark Sector, a region at South Pole where radio and RF signals are forbidden due to the sensitive CMB experiments SPT, BICEP, and SPUD/KECK, which are located there as well.

This raccoon pair likes to stick together, they used some nice teamwork skills to avoid having to actually jump to get to the top of the fence and worked on some of those bicep muscles to do a pull up to get to the top.

I have been in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico the past few weekends working on a calendar project for a friend. We were out walking around on Saturday afternoon and came upon this fellow who was dancing on a street corner to some music (although I think he would have been dancing even if there was no audible music.) He seemed to be enjoying himself and the attention he was getting from the passing cars and pedestrians. I asked him to pose for a picture and he struck a pose to show me his bicep. Unfortunately I wasn’t fast enough to frame it properly and before I knew it he was moving to the music again. I liked the photo even if there is a bit of sadness in his eyes.
Strobist lighting information: I was fortunate to have an assistant with me and he was carrying a 400 watt second Dynalite studio strobe with a small beauty dish attached. The light was powered by a Vagabond battery pack. We worked out a distance that would produce the proper exposure and my assistant would try to approximate it as we set up each shot. This is a great way to work guerrilla style for street photography.
There are experiments at South Pole that measure the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and trying to understand the very early evolution of the Universe: SPT, BICEP3 and Keck. This images shows all three of them (from left to right) with the setting Sun in the background.

By his foot is a pile of empty cans. He flicks his wrist and opens the revolving chamber on his python at the same time the barrel comes up to his right bicep, flicking up another chamber into the air. His right hand then reaches up for the airborne chamber as he quickly swaps the loaded cylinder for the discarded one, flicking his wrist and slapping the now loaded cylinder back into the gun, he reaches down to the pile of cans by his foot and throws it high into the air. Quickly he unloads another six bullets into the can, it dances in the air as each shot sends it spinning in another direction. His bullets expended he lowers the smoking barrel of his python and turns to Guin, the can finally crashing to the concrete roof top behind him, full of six or indeed 12 holes as the bullets passed right through it. "Howdeh. "
Guin catches the blur of motion as she reaches the rooftop, of the can spinning in the air like a mad top before disappearing. "What did those poor cans ever do to you?" she asks with a grin as she clears the last step of the ladder.
Charles smiled. "Nuthin much, jes like ta keep mah hand in ... small, fast moving targets are harder ta hit than large slow movin or static ones.. thet's why tha gun range is a joke... anyone kin hit a static target thet pops up.. try shootin somethin small an in motion.." he said, holstering his python.
Guin closes the distance slowly, clasping her hands behind her back. "Well, for -some- of us, the range is still a challenge." She gives him a wink, stepping up next to him and nodding at the pile of victim cans at his feet. "Often find yourself shooting at small, moving things?"
