Betty Boop - The Queen of the Animated Screen
Betty Boop was created by Max Fleischer.
Betty Boop made her first appearance in 1930’s Dizzy Dishes, the seventh installment in Fleischer's Talkartoon series. She was originally created as an anthropomorphic French poodle.
Within a year, Betty made the transition from a human-canine to a completely human female character. By the release of Any Rags, Betty Boop was established as a human character. Her floppy poodle ears became hoop earrings, and her black poodle nose became a girl's button-like nose.
Betty appeared in the first "Color Classic" cartoon Poor Cinderella, her only theatrical color appearance, in 1934. In the film, she was depicted with red hair as opposed to her typical black hair.
Betty Boop was the star of the Talkartoons by 1932 and was given her own series that same year, beginning with Stopping the Show. From that point on, she was crowned "The Queen of the Animated Screen". The series was popular throughout the 1930s, lasting until 1939.

The theme for Smile on Saturday this week is "TIMEPIECES".
There is always a lot to be said for time. I find that it is often easier said than done to spend time wisely. However, someone recently reminded me that "Time" is our greatest commodity. That statement is so true. One cannot make more or buy more time.
Time is precious, I hope that you are able to spend the majority of your time on this earth doing things in life that bring you great joy. Have a lovely day and happy snapping.
Working on my composite skills. I have a ways to go to but I am enjoying the learning process.
Background from pngtree.com
Betty Boop and Pudgy were a gift from the prettiest and loveliest Secret Santa!
Smile on Saturday. Today’s theme is a single flower being held by someone or something. Betty Boop is holding her fresh Coneflower umbrella while she bathes in the sun. Looking so sexy! Thank you for your visit, faves and comments 🙏
Betty Boop was 'born' in Fleischer Studios in 1930 first appearing in Dizzy Dishes. A beauty icon helping me for this week's theme. HMM!

24th September 2021 :
Had to go into town this morning, but Graham had told me about a gorilla in a window, so after I'd done what I needed to do, I went in search.
I found it too - see here : www.flickr.com/photos/44506883@N04/51511289686/in/datepos...
But, in the end preferred this of Betty Boop.

Middle and Bottom Shelves
Betty Boop Museum
Harbor City, CA

Two of the shelves in my main display cabinet. I'm getting ready to rearrange some of my "displays" after a decade, and this is a "before" shot showing two of the shelves properly lit before I do any changing.
Photographed through my new light ring at 5800K.
The collage combines the elements of an Alaskan ice field that I visited with two Florida characters-Betty Boop from a restaurant and a pelican.

I had a very enjoyable visit with my grandson to this amazing place, The Barker Comic and Cartoon Museum! From Vintage 1930s Mickey Mouse Toothpaste to a 1:1 Scale Replica of the Hulk, every toy you’ve ever played with (or dreamed of) is displayed amongst the 88,000+ antique toys and collectibles within the Barker Character, Comic, and Cartoon Museum. Official Museum for Celebriducks, California Raisins, and Gumby! I shot a bunch of shots, all with a cell phone (not like me, I know) and most were behind glass cabinets. What a trip with so many memories to enjoy! I hope you'll also enjoy seeing some of the shots I walked away with, and more will follow...no car shots today :))
A shot of the interior of the baby blue Ford Maverick that I posted yesterday. This car had Ontario licence plates, but the back window had a “U.S. Navy Retired” sticker, which is cool and interesting. Anyway, if you love classic cars, watch your feed, because I have a beautiful one coming up for tomorrow or the next day… So exciting! (For me anyway.) lol
Needed to get away form Las Vegas, because of the heat and the smoke in the skies. Went to Kershaw-Ryan Nevada state park near Caliente in Lincoln County, where it was feeling a little more like Autumn.
Ate pizza and wings at a restaurant in Caliente celled Side Track Restaurant. There was a lot of Harley Davidson stuff all over the place. The piece that caught my eye was this Betty Boop in leather riding a motorcycle, with bottles of beer in the background.
