Within each of us
Thrives a powerful place
Bursting with potential
And Promise.
We dance in a garden
Of the most exquisite kind
When we allow
The dreams of our heart
The freedom to be felt
Formed
Experienced all at once.
Here's to Dancing Through 2014: The Best Year Ever!!!!
a scripture verse from Psalms on the wall of the Salvation Army church building at Maroochydore, Queensland.
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
MEDITATION
"Occasionally, on retreats, I will use the following meditation.
Begin with the Scriptural quote: “Be still and know that I am God.” Just sit quietly in chapel, or in a comfortable chair at home, and ponder that meditation. Let yourself be still, and let God be God.
Second, alter the sentence ever so slightly to read: “Be still and know that I am...” When Moses met God in the burning bush, he asked God what his name was. God replied: “My name is ‘I Am.’” God is the eternal present moment. God is eternal being.
Third, edit the sentence again to read: “Be still and know...” Know what? Just Know. Just know that God IS, and that God is in Charge. We look at life with such limited human vision. God looks at life and knows. When we just get quiet enough to just know, it's enough just to know that we know. It's enough to know that We Are One With God. Often in our busyness, we are individual egos – individual mind-bodies – running around doing all kinds of things. When we just Know, we Know that just To Be IS Enough. Let God be in charge of Life and of our personal Lives..." ~ Fr. Breighner

music, photos and production by me. copyright 2012
This one started as a guitar arpeggio, which was followed by a lyric and melody. Years later, I needed something short to use for my first slideshow attempt with Magix Photostory, so I figured "hey, I'll use this." But I decided to go with keyboards (which I am not proficient at), and it turned into hours of recording and production to get 1 minute (minuet) of music!
I was trying for the sparse sound that Brian Eno used on a few of his pieces on "Before and After Science", so no drums or bass on this one. To keep up on my Youtube activity:
"Be still, and know that I am God ;
I will be exalted among the nations
I will be exalted in the earth."
Psalm 46:10
This photo was inspired by the book "SIGNS OF FAITH: Roadside Reminders Of God's Word" and based on Psalm 46:10. The stop sign is just outside the church building (pictured in the background) where we use to meet every Sunday.
"Let every STOP sign you encounter also serve as an occasion for a quick driving devotional: pause for a moment to not only look for traffic, but also to see God's presence in the surrounding area, to reflect on God as a part of your life, or to praise God! Let all of your senses become more aware of God around you and in you." - from SIGNS OF FAITH [James Lawrence Co.]
This lovely necklace features a brass circle charm handstamped with the words Be Still and Know. Layered on top of the disc is a sweet yellow cross. Simply strung on a jet black strand for a simple, yet powerful declaration of your faith.
I individually hand stamp all lettering. Therefore, please expect that there will be some variation in each tag. You'll notice that the lettering isn't always straight or perfect, but that adds to the unique charm of a handstamped necklace.
