...is what I call waiting until the last moment to quickly pull your very non-weatherproof camera out of the way of an incoming wave, then trying not to get wiped out by the undertow!
Left over wind from a coastal storm challenges determined shore birds on a gray day on Race Point Beach.
When the show was over, I enjoyed this show a lot more!!! :D
This is a beach that doesn't really exist outside Ultra low tide. This is Victoria Beach in Laguna around the corner (private beaches) that are only accessible across some rocks... during very low tides. I knew I'd gotten the shot I wanted when saw this Rainbow light show. One of my favorites..... hope you like it just as much :D
Hope you're having a great week!!
Thanks for your visits, comments and fave's!~ LL
Life is like the Ocean, it can be calm or still...rough or rigid... but in the end it is always beautiful when you're going in the right direction!
...This is a shot I took in La Jolla, San Diego California on a stormy day in January when I was trying to figure out what to do with my life this year....after 16.5 years at one job...it was time to figure out a new direction.... New Year's resolution time ya know :D
Thanks for stopping to look and all your kind comments. I'm also on Instagram where you can follow me as "swazileigh" I post more frequently there....
Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!

Hello and Happy weekend! Who's doing anything exciting?? :) How about going to see the Perseid meteor Shower?
One of those moments, right time, right place.. about the photo- a lone surfer exiting near San Clemente pier in California US where I had been watching him catch some epic waves as the sky burst into color! :D
I hope you all had a magic weekend!!! Thanks again for all of you who still visit my stream even though I'm not on here as much as I'd like to be... you can find me on Instragram under "swazileigh" if you'd like to see me more often :)
In my bag of tricks today I have a shot from Big Sur's Pfieffer Beach long after sunset, a last minute decision to take a quick 'snap' walking away after being treated to an awesome light display... never put the camera away- the blue hour can be a special time to capture an extra special nugget or two!! Hope you like it?! :D
Thanks for looking!

Location information is my best guess, it was a long mini-bus ride!

Last weekend I got the privilege of showing Australian Adventure photographer Pete Dobre around my neck of the woods...If you're thinking of going to Australia or on Safari to Southern Africa- I highly recommend you find his web page and look at his workshops. He is fantastic Tour guide, a genuine down to earth guy and totally fun!!
About the photo: I spotted this couple in love under the pier hugging eachother right at the time the sun was peeking through and I snapped off a candid shot.
Pete and I ended up chasing the clouds around all morning till we got rained out
Thanks for looking and as always for your support!

Llandudno Beach, Cape Town, South Africa is one of the most pristinely beautiful beaches in the world in my opinion... The drive along Chapman's Peak affords breathtaking views of the Cape coastline, unmatched anywhere else I've been in the world. Taken when I went back for my 10 year family reunion in December for Christmas. I took a drive with my parents at sunset and a delicious Thai dinner in Hout Bay! Cape Town is a fantastic vacation destination with friendly and warm hospitable people :D — in Llandudno.

The Outer Hebrides, also known as the Western Isles (Scottish Gaelic: Na h-Eileanan Siar or the Long Isle or Long Island , is an island chain off the west coast of mainland Scotland. The main islands form an archipelago of which the major islands include Lewis and Harris, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, and Barra. Lewis and Harris has an area of 841 sq mi) and is the largest island in Scotland. It incorporates Lewis in the north and Harris in the south, both of which are frequently referred to as individual islands, although they are joined by a land border.

"The rocks that make up the headland at Red Rock are named the Redbank River beds. They comprise fine grained sedimentary rocks that were deposited in the ocean below wave and most current activity. Deposition possibly took place near an underwater volcanic vent.
The Redbank River beds are very strongly deformed. They are folded and faulted and have been forced into very contorted shapes.
These rocks are an enigma to geologists; they occur only at Red Rock Headland. We do not know if they are older or younger than the rocks that outcrop elsewhere in the Coffs Harbour district. Their age may range from Silurian to Carboniferous, spanning an interval from about 420 million years to 350 million years old.
Some geologists have concluded that the unique rock types and deformation features of the Redbank River beds at Red Rock Headland are so different from other nearby rocks in the Coffs Harbour district, that they must have been deposited and deformed elsewhere prior to emplacement in their current location. One possible explanation is that the Red Rock headland is a huge block of rock which was broken from its original site of deposition and deformation, and dropped into deeper water where it was engulfed by younger sediment. Another possibility is that these rocks may represent a small preserved portion of the older rocks which could occur below the surrounding rocks in the district." Reference

Last weekend we had a fun time when we went down to San Diego to pick up Willem Verheyen visiting from Holland and played tour guide. We had a strict agenda to capture certain shots at a few spots. This particular spot has been a challenge for me... I've visited this location no less than 6 times and never been able to get anything other than either no clouds (blue bird) or marine layer :P This time we were eating dinner up the street at a cool Italian joint when we saw the light changing... we literally picked up our gear and ran!!! The light rays were strong beams a moment before this shot was taken but we got there just too late. A moment where I'm reminded that light and timing is everything; and photography is a lot of patience and persistence to get the right shot... this is the best I've captured at this location but I'm still after a rainbow sunset where the colors reflected in these pools of water "wow" me :D ... Did I mention, I like color!! haha

A favorite pastime for Americans on the 4th of July if they are near a beach. This beach will be filled by the morning hours.
Isle of Pines is an island in the archipelago of New Caledonia, a French overseas territory in the South Pacific. It's southeast of the main island, Grande Terre, and known for its white sand beaches and tall pine trees. In the northeast, Oro Bay has a natural pool bounded by a coral reef. bookinghotelin.com/newcaledonia Pacific info bookinghotelin.wordpress.com/pacific/
This is by far one of the most beautiful beaches in Rio.
Far from Downtown Rio, but the water in the furthest west part is more tranquil and so there it is better for families with children.
If you are looking for crowded and noise places like Copacabana, you might not like this.
One of the better snorkeling beaches in Kauai. My original photo of this place taken last year received much love. Thank for all the comments :)
