The Krall Barn is believed to be the oldest existing log barn in Lebanon County. The effort to save it first kicked off in 2007, when the structure, then located east of Schaefferstown, was saved from destruction by a cooperating owner, Howard Scharff, who worked with Schaefferstown’s Bill Ross by offering to donate the barn if it was dismantled. The way it stands now, most of the exterior of the Krall Barn is nearly complete. But there are many smaller, inside projects yet to be tackled. The education center is expected to make it easier for visitors to enjoy their time at the 110 acre historic site that features three locks of the Union Canal, an engineering feat visited by none less than President George Washington himself during its construction.

I believe, this is the most photographed house in Ahrenshoop at the baltic sea and I can understand that absolutely. This rough romantic, what this place is transmitting, was capturing me instantly. I nearly can feel the warmth of a chimney fire behind this windows and the taste of a hot chokolate while the wind is smooth joggling at the walls.
Ich glaube, dies hier ist das am meisten fotografierte Gebäude in Ahrenshoop an der Ostsee und ich kann dies absolut verstehen. Diese raue Romantik, die dieser Platz ausstrahlt, hat mich sofort in ihren Bann gezogen. Ich spüre förmlich die Wärme eines Kaminfeuers hinter diesen Fenstern und den Geschmack einen heißen Schokolade während der Wind gleichmäßig an den Wänden rüttelt.

It’s believed that between the 15th and 18th centuries, Easter Island suffered an overpopulation crisis that caused shortages and conflicts between the 12 island tribes. The obsession of building bigger and bigger moai statues was one of the main causes of deforestation and food scarcity. These problems led to a fall in the belief of the moai’s power and their construction was not only abandoned, but some were even torn down from their ahus.

Opened 1929. I believe the theater is now an event center. It has been closed since 2018 due to renovation efforts.
I couldn't believe my luck when this cat decided to climb up this small snag and sit for a better view of the area. Amazingly some of the afternoon light was still shining through the trees and lit up this beauty for a few moments.
