Translate Dante Alighieri in English with Google's translation I can not,

Excuse me. Surely there will be some good translator who has already done it ...

Goodness knows what will happen to these delicate crocus after the storm later today.

The Völklingen Ironworks (German: Völklinger Hütte) is located in the German town of Völklingen, Saarland. In 1994, it was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.

August has been going by so quickly for me - my day job continues to be busy, and the Great Salt Lake continues to be covered with smoke from massive fires burning in California and Oregon.

This shot is from July before the wildfire smoke - my heart goes out to all those who are have been impacted by those fires.

The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.

Tulipa Queen of Night

With 'Queen of Night' a black tulip was grown for the first time. Depending on the light, the calyx shimmers silky from deep dark purple to black. The famous variety is still rightly considered the most beautiful black tulip unmatched.

'Queen of Night' received an Award of Merit from the Koninklijke Algemeene Vereeniging voor Bloembollencultuur (KAVB) and an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in 1944. In 2007 the tulip was named Flower Bulb of the Year.

American robins arrived in force over the past few days, a sure sign that spring has sprung! What a welcome sight it is to see that bright orange belly sitting out in the yard every morning again! Before the year 2000, robins would very rarely return to Winneshiek County before March 15. Since 2000, that first arrival date has shifted forward a week to March 7. Look at where we are today.
