Closeup of the iris in my garden.

For the most part, Spring was cool and mild, and for the first time my iris plant had 11 buds/blooms.The evening after this picture was taken, there was a heavy rain storm with a strong wind that had its way with my iris. All of the flower stems were laying flat on the lawn. So I am happy to have taken this pictures to enjoy.

My Atlanta garden

My irises must have enjoyed the extra rain that nature provided this spring as they have bloomed quite well this year. Another beautiful blessing right in my own yard!

I get to meet really interesting people, and photography is a reason that I can have an interaction with them and just look at the world with their glasses on a little bit, and visit their reality and their world. So to me, it’s that meeting with people, which is sort of attractive about photography. Yes. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable. Sometimes it makes me nervous and all this. But there is that feeling I’m meeting real people and we see again and again out there that reality is so much more rich and strange than most fiction you can dream up. And I just love, love, love connecting and touching that :-)

Took this snap yesterday in the garden, I have been busy processing my doggy Halloween photos and just needed a break.

Took this back in May, planted 2 years ago and forgot it was there, it blended so beautifully amongst the Azaleas.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Last summer I spotted this single bearded iris at a local park. I've never seen one of this colour before, but maybe you have. It reminds me of the irises that were in my great aunt's garden many years ago.

Thank you for viewing and for leaving me a comment. Have a wonderful day and week!

This iris is long gone but so beautiful in early morning light, lucky enough to capture its beauty on many levels.

I just realized I’ve been MIA for quite awhile! Had to get treated for back pain, met virtually with sleep therapist, family reunion and met my granddaughter Alice for the first time…how wonderful that was:-)

Thanks very much for stopping by, I’m wishing you a wonderful week…Pat..xo

We’re in the part of the US where we’ve had drought and heat with respites of showers and lower temps. What’s the weather like in your world?

Hello there,

Somehow this view reminds me of going to the doctor. "Open and say ahh!" Just having a little fun with the macro lens. Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving me a comment. I do love hearing from you!

Vacation 2021

Hi to all. We have just returned from a short vacation to Norfolk, a county that I really love.

I will be catching up with all of your visits and comments over the next few days.

Best wishes to all and keep safe.

A close up of a bearded Iris. Iris was a Greek goddess. She was the personification of the rainbow and messenger of the gods.

Happy weekend!

Thanks for visiting. I am very grateful for the kind comments and faves.

We've just returned from a family vacation in a lake area...our California families, and Twin Cities families were there...all vaccinated, no masks..it was (literally) a breath of fresh air. Richard and I also met our 12 month old grandaughter for the first time:-)

It is Iris season in my garden but we have had some crazy weather the last few days with wind, hail, and torrential rain. The irises are looking worse for the wear after all that so I was glad I took some photos earlier in the week!

Have a wonderful weekend!

This Iris I planted in the wrong spot, it often gets chopped by the trimer, Next spring I will move them to a safer sunny spot,

Last year I dug them up and now they tippled,

Can’t you just hear the rat tat tat of those Spanish heels and see the swirling skirts in this bearded iris…well maybe not the clicking heels…but surely add on the golden fairy dust captured by the light.

Wishing you well flickr friends as we head into the end of the week. Thank you for stopping by…Pat..xo

What a summer this has been…seeing friends and family again, my 1 year old granddaughter for the first time, several short trips…no mask wearing (although that is starting to change again), hot, hot…and smoky air from wildfires. But there’s been a resemblance to more normal living and for that I’m grateful.

Hoping you all are experiencing some good times too!

I do know that I want to try to get closer to myself. The older I get, the more indications I have about what it is to get closer to yourself. You try less hard. I just want to be :-)
