I bought these hoping that they would add some color to my cold and white February days :) So fragrant...

Be Still, week 6 - more that props...

The MV Cill Airne boat bar & restaurant with the backdrop of the metropolis of Dublin's fast paced high tech firms & then the River Liffey bringing calm to the chaos, a slight shimmering as the city winds down for the evening.

Inspired by BeStill 52, Real life-Still life. A tiny bit of KK Touch texture added to further soften the background.

Creating a little beach scene on my patio. Wish I was really at the beach!

Caught this in today's morning light. Was headed in one direction, but ended up in another. Getting more comfortable with going with the flow.

Be Still, week 24 - Inspired by Paintings

Of course it was with Charlie. Who else would get up so early and take a walk with me?

The sky put on a private showing for us and the doe that walked through the fog.

Wow.

Be Still, week 27 - top down, square. two sides

These dried so beautifully, I couldn't see tossing them out. So while stuck inside waiting for phone calls [yes, they only had my landline]...I thought I'd do some Still Life.

BeStill 52 Week 14. My husband's neat row of shirts in our otherwise chaotic closet is a real-life still life. (Kim Klassen texture)

I can smell Autumn dancing in the rain...

I could not resist another citrus shot for be still. Oh, it smells heavenly when I shoot these. Yesterday, was light and bright. Today is dark and moody.

Also for Be Still class - week 4 - single point focus: taken with canon 50mm lens, f/1.4, ISO 100

Be still, like the calm before the tempest,

never shifting,

still as a stone.

I’ll be the wind,

strong as the tornado,

whipping in endless circles.

Free to go where I please,

as fast or light as I wish,

touching all continents

again and again.

Hearing stories of all nations

and every tongue.

Touching each life

in a different way.

Singing to myself,

and whispering in every ear,

in a language no one can decipher.

Carving rocks and canyons

into sculptures the size of cities,

I’ll be the artist of the Earth.

Don’t move,

stay there.

I’ll go to the ends of the world

and back

for the both of us

I'm glad I had time to take some photos today, we only had half practice at tennis today because we won our match yesterday. This was just a spontaneous thing, didn't really have a specific thing in mind when I started. I like how it turned out, though. I was going to crop it closer but I decided I liked the mystery around me. :)

Oh, and the poem is one I wrote in English this year, if anyone was curious about that.

Seriously.

16/365 I really need to work on photographing reflective objects. The lighter edge of the vase was catching the slice of sun coming in. I didn’t realize it until I was in lightroom. Good thing we have all year! Be Still Week 1

Week 2 of Still Life Class. I went with the Valentine's Day theme here.

Items used. Old water pitcher, carnations, candy, white sheet, white foam board. A dresser by the window for light.

Be Still 52 class with Kim Klassen (Day 4) A little edit in Photoshop (Levels, lighting, reduced saturation) Then added Kim's "Olden Days" preset in Lightroom. Finally, added two of Kim's textures (Waterfront 10/Aurora)

I am stuck in a flower phase right now. They are easy for me, because I always have flowers in my home. I need to break out, but when???

Quiet and peaceful, savoring the moment

I know a lot of you are freaking out right now.. This whole world has gone crazy! For any of you who read or know the bible, you should know what scripture says. I believe that Jesus is coming back VERY SOON.

> There is NO NEED to stress, be anxious or worry. Know that it is going to be OKAY.

The Bible says, "BE STILL" & wait. Of coarse stand up for your rights and voice your opinion but leave the BIG STUFF up to him.. he's coming. He's working, he's GOT THIS!!!

Just believe. Be still.

Let it play out.

Everything will be okay.

______

I found an amazing video this morning

...I'm not telling you to watch it. But if you're scared and interested in what I'm talking about, just give the link a click..

IF NOT, that's okay too. I will pray for you all. The world needs prayers right now, and believe me.. God is listening. He is working. Just because you don't see it yet, or you can't find the answers.. doesn't mean he's NOT working!

The video link below, says it best. I'm grateful that I found this , this morning. Made my day, that much better!

(it's a video on facebook, so you may need to log on, I'm not sure!)

Have a great day all! Praying for you all!

BTW: Today is my FIRST FULL DAY AT WORK AS THE ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE DELI!! I got the promotion Monday night & Had off Tuesday!

So grateful. This is the position that I wanted, since at the moment unfortunately, I cannot work FULL TIME because of my health insurance.. so I cannot take the deli manager position.. I was hoping that I could have some authority over my deli though . There wasn't an assistant mgr position.. but after much talk, and us all seeing that I am not able to take the manager position now, or for a while.. they made an assistant mgr position available.. and gave it to me . I'm SO grateful. That is exactly what I wanted and needed. That way I can do everything that I know how to, & was trained to do.. and also have authority so that new trainees actually respect what I say. I'm SO grateful that they gave the Manager Position to Steph. (She's also in recovery and a great friend to me). We're going to make such a great team. I'm excited to see what we can do with this deli.

Rock on! :)

Three things challenge. Stool, window, sidelight. Be Still 52 class with the fabulous Kim Klassen. Aurora texture by Kim Klassen. Thanks for visiting. The Studio 56. www.thestudio56.com

Editorial-style vintage memories. Captured for Kim Klassen's The Studio | Online. LR preset KKtrue grit.

I am a huge believer in printing my own work and displaying it in some way. I print everything at home on a wide-format printer and can print as large as 12x18. I printed out a few of my favorite "beachy" photos in 4x4 and scattered them with a few shells on a new background board I just finished. The link for the instructions are in the Be Still Lounge under "DIY Photo Backdrop" and was posted by Brenda (thanks, Brenda!). One side is this beautiful aqua and the other side is a distressed white. I used Kim's Breeze preset and then her Pinit9 texture. Now I want to go to the beach!

Thank you for taking the time to comment, award and/or critique my work, I truly appreciate each and everyone!

Thank you and I hope you enjoy your day :-)

PA - Everyday Things

ODC - Everyday Object - I use the doorknob and bed everyday, not the bottle of flowers, though, lol. ;)

Be Still 52 - Hanging Bottles

ODT - (Extra)-ordinary

I didn't have much hope for this shot, but I think it turned into a pretty art piece and the texture really worked. They don't always.

This was taken at the park in Brisol, Tennessee.

I put a stick on two chairs, hung the bottle on it and put a little twig of the hydrangea in it, done :)

Didn't need much work, I used my tripod so I could use a slow shutterspeed to get some light on this gloomy day .

Textures added: kk_100 and kk_101 and my own texture: Vic's door 2.
