"A leader we can believe in."
[A silly anecdote: I actually brought his book, The Audacity of Hope, to have him sign if I "could get close enough." I had a permanent marker too. Oh well.]
Barack Obama spoke to about 18,000 people @ Kohl Center, Madison, Wisconsin. The students were reminded that if they are a student in Wisconsin they can vote. It was a great event. Late, for my little ten year old. But I think she will remember this night for a long time. I asked her what her strongest impression was from the night and she said "He's going to end the war." "You really believe he will do it don't you?" "Yes, she said, of course." I hope so. I believe he will.
The things that were important to this crowd seemed to be: the war, student credits to go to school. When he said they would have to work for it by volunteering the crowd went absolutely WILD! Imagine that. Cheering because he wants them to do something for others. They also went wild went he mentioned that George Dubya would NOT BE IN THE WHITE HOUSE. I think even Obama was taken aback by the cheering over that comment.

Diversity: the art of thinking independently together.
Malcolm Forbes
When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
John F. Kennedy
Real cultural diversity results from the interchange of ideas, products, and influences, not from the insular development of a single national style.
Tyler Cowen
Today when I think about diversity, I actually think about the word 'inclusion.' And I think this is a time of great inclusion. It's not men, it's not women alone. Whether it's geographic, it's approach, it's your style, it's your way of learning, the way you want to contribute, it's your age - it is really broad.
Ginni Rometty
We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.
Max de Pree
What I'm trying to do is get a change in the mindset so people move from a level of mere tolerance to total acceptance and eventually to celebrate diversity. If you feel comfortable with one another, it doesn't matter whether we live in which neighbourhood but we can interact with one another freely. It's a mindset.
Najib Razak
Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who 'get it!' We need judges who understand what discrimination feels like. We need judges who understand what inequality feels like. We need judges who understand the subtleties of unfair treatment and who are willing to call it out when they see it!
Debbie Wasserman Schultz
We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion. This isn't a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of understanding what makes us strong. The world respects us not just for our arsenal; it respects us for our diversity and our openness and the way we respect every faith.
Barack Obama
Right now, when we're hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been - and will always be - our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States.
Michelle Obama

Obama has made history!!! We have all been a part of it. To commemorate this historic event we have created some new posters based on the “New Hope” series. The new series, titled "We Made History" will have a limited run of 100 numbered prints, signed by artist Deroy Peraza, and is available in four colors.
I put this together in February or something and figured I'd share it now that he is the nominee and all.

Through my job, I get to meet some really incredible people. For me, being with Barack Obama during his campaign was a night I will not soon forget. This picture was taken last year, not long before he was elected. I am amazed I recieved it. Nice suprise.
YES WE DID!
I guess the "Real America" has spoken, Mrs. Palin. Kindly crawl back into your igloo now.
