i made most of my money in high school and college selling art and balloon twisting.
i think in this picture i'm just visiting a local coffee shop to embarrass a couple of friends out on an awkward date or something.
Eva: You've gotta be kidding me.
Julia: What's the problem?
Eva: It's a weird looking blue caricature of a dog that falls over in a breeze and makes weird squeaking noises.
Julia: So, you're not a fan of Loonie?
Eva: You could say that.
Julia: But I just learned how to make balloon animals. Isn't developing new skills awesome?
Eva: New skills are swesome.
If they involve belly rubs or cookies.
Julia: Well, Dad wants to do a photo of you with Loonie. So there will be cookies involved.
Eva: Well, now that you mention cookies, I guess Loonie isn't too bad.
Julia: Good to know.
Eva: But, since Loonie doesn't have a real mouth I guess I'll have to eat his share of the cookies too.

Julia learned how to make balloon animals. And she suggested that one make an appearance in Eva's project. And yes, Eva did get double her share of cookies for this shot.
Slow internet up at the cabin today - so I'll try and come back later to comment on other photos.
This is Jessica Kucinskas, Mary Costa, and myself taking a break from making our stop-animation to pose for a quick picture ourselves!
If you're inerested in seeing our short flip book animation featuring Christopher Guetig and Caitlin Randolph, you can watch it RIGHT HERE.
We had a lot of fun, and are real proud of what we've created - and I couldn't have done it without these girls!
One of my Valentine's Day presents from my husband was a blind box Kidrobot Pop toy. I didn't even know that this series existed, so my hubby did good! They are heavy vinyl toys that are supposed to look like balloon animals. I got the black swan, which is supposed to be one of the hard-to-get ones. So now I can blame him when I become addicted to these things and start buying more of them. There are poodles, cats, swans, bears, unicorns, and giraffes. I at least have to get all the kitty cats!!
I’m all SMILES after receiving the most incredible care package…full of BALLOON ANIMALS!
My wonderful, animal loving friends, Nick and Laree, sent me this whimsical surprise…just because!
Nick is a very talented balloonist and has dabbled in the world of magic. They both are very special people and their kindness has touched my heart and made me giddy! I had to have a little photo shoot with my new balloon friends, so I can remember this amazing gift of joy forever!
Collectible Minifig Series 18 is great. Balloon animals are the Lego parts I never realized I needed.
Trick or treating in my neighborhood was last night; this was the most interesting costume I saw! There were other inflatables, but this one takes the cake! The big, red dog was accompanied by an angel, Beetlejuice and I guess a prison inmate.
There were a lot of dogs walking along with their owners, the large one here appeared to be young and in need of some training.
For the All New Scavenger Hunt #2 - Costume.
I love balloon animals and Lego has come up with a minifig that is perfect for this - the balloon man!
Last year my family and I met together in San Francisco for a vacation. We spent a few nights in Alameda which is a beautiful suburb of SF. Little did we know that we arrived right on time for Dia De Los Muertos which we got to enjoy at the next town over called Fruitvale. I took a lot of photos but this is one of my favorites, the happy balloon man, completely surrounded by inflated funny animals and colorful objects.
Another shot from my 365 366 project.
I wonder if I should've called this, "The Floating Danbo." No idea what happened there.
Anyway, be impressed with my marvellous balloon animal. No? Fair enough.

Don’t miss out on the party of the year.
A balloon animal sits alone on a bench. I imagine it was left here by a child who is likely on her or his way to Howard without this precious toy.
October 26, 2011 - A series of 10 stone sculptures have been installed at the new Children’s Garden near the Tai Chi Park at Prince Arthur’s Landing. The work, entitled Balloon Animals, was produced by Paul Slipper and Nadine Stefan, a Vancouver-based artist team. ..
The sculptures depict a herd of 10 balloon animals that have drifted into Marina Park. The height of most sculptures will be at the eye level of the average six year old. The colourful array of stones such as granite from Vermilion Bay have polished, jewel-like surfaces that invite touch and an appreciation of the materials.
“Young viewers are encouraged to investigate the contrasting nature of the material,” said Slipper, referencing the associations typically made between light, airy balloons and hard, solid stone. Their intent was to provide sculptures that have universal appeal.
As part of Jeff Koons’s Celebration, an ongoing series of paintings and sculptures that memorialize the rituals, icons, and images surrounding birthdays, holidays, and other party occasions, Balloon Dog (Blue) may be the most imposing work. Using the recognizable form of a balloon twisted into the shape of a dog, Koons has frozen a moment in time, exaggerating both scale and material. Balloon Dog (Blue) is literal and abstract. When standing close to it, one’s own distorted reflection bends around smooth pert curves. The work is a collection of shapes, each segment alone does not look like part of a dog’s anatomy — in fact Koons often references human sexual anatomy — but taken as a whole Balloon Dog (Blue) is an aloof sentinel cloaked in nostalgia.
