the smallest baby penguin that I have ever seen...it allowed me to get fairly close to it but I was always aware of the parent watching me...
“Etymology. From a routing system on the Santa Fe Railroad in the early 1900s. Fast freight trains which were to receive priority routing were marked with placards depicting a red disc, and were called "red ball" trains.”
I’m pretty sure that there was no red disc placard on this train, but I liked the sound of Red Ball —a fast freight train.

LIttered with autumn leaves, the slow flowing Twenty mile creek appears to flow right through the rock face at Upper Ball's Falls in the Niagara region of Ontario.
The flow of the river is highly dependant on rain and snow melt, so this rather placid looking falls can become a raging torrent in the spring.
Thanks for viewing and have a great day :)

Manhattanhenge is a special occurrence that happens 2 times a year where the sun sets half above the horizon and half below the horizon. It is special because in NYC, it aligns directly with the horizon of streets and buildings, creating a radiant glow across the north & south sides of the streets.
I took this photo the day after manhattanhenge, where the entire ball of sun is visible on the horizon.
