The early morning light gave nice lighting to the round hay bales sitting on the hill.

Barley ? bales ....

In the 'shadow' of Emley Moor mast (former Analog TV. transmitter) near Huddersfield

The harvest around our area is about complete already, and so it’s time to grab some straw bale shots😁.

I was woken early the other morning by the wife, who mentioned that there was some mist and colour in the sky (you’ve got to love her😁); and so I popped out to grab some quick shots. Although this spot is only a couple of minutes from where I live, the sky colours were already dissipating. However, as the sun came above the hill I was able to get some shots of the backlit bales.

The sun is a little too bright in this shot having fully crested the hill, but it’s the wife’s favourite from the set.

Thank you for visit and happy Sunday !

Hay Bale at a farm.

I chatted with the farmer as I strolled the new bales of hay. This little rascal chastised me vocally with every step I took. It was a very cloudy morning and the racoon watched me intently, obviously guarding his property and family. The farmer was not very impressed with his presence as well as they create much damage to their work and product.

The baler just dumped a finished roll.

I hope everyone has a great day. We got a little rain last night and it is supposed to be cooler today👍.

A sign that autumn is here -- stacks of hay bales. Looks like a sculpture.

Hay bales sunset number 2

On the way home when the highway was closed, we snuck down the back roads to get home, despite whiteout conditions. We made it home and I caught this lonely hay bale.

Neat rows of circular bales is a rare sight on the moor, so I stopped to grab this panoramic while the evening sun was still catching the valley side.

Wishing everyone a great week ahead!

Today is a wonderful day and I'm very happy because the weather was really nice and I'm on Explore with my flowerpicture I uploaded yesterday :-)

So I decided to upload a few more pictures I made last week. Now the harvest time is already in full swing and now you can find straw bales on every field so I thought I should take some nice pictures of them :-)

Thanks for every fav and comment :-)

I'll do my best to get a lots of fav's and comments back :-)

At a farm near the Peel of Lumphanan are rows of hay bales wrapped in black plastic with the golden setting sun reflecting from their sides.

The peel is a defensive structure dating back to the 13th century. It is located near Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire, north-east Scotland. The peel comprises a mound or motte, surrounded by two concentric ditches separated by a bank.

I had read about pink hay bales but no seen any until today at Mays Farm, Ewelme, South Oxfordshire. The idea is to raise awareness of breast cancer and, with part of the purchase cost of the wrapping material, support breast cancer charities. Or are they really giant marshmallows?

....a typical annual shot taken on a smokey and balmy evening!

I thank you for the comments and faves! Have a great day!

Straw bales lined up. Cleadon, South Tyneside

It’s that time of year when otherwise flat boring fields are transformed with the addition of straw bales to provide that element of added interest.

I was fortunate to get out the other morning for sunrise, which coincided with some great light and some mist. It certainly felt that Autumn (fall) is nearly here.

Finally we were getting a long enough period of dry weather to produce hay for our horses...

Hay bales outside of Bright in the Victorian high country...these a couple of glimpses of fences :) Have a great weekend everyone and HFF
