Continuing to share some of my older images. I have not done a whole lot of shooting lately. Kind of bugs me but it also makes you come up with creative shots, hopefully. I hope your week is going well so far.
Fynn at the backdoor watching the activities of the other cats in the garden. I took this photo for the simple reason that I thought he looked lovely and not as dishevelled as he usually does.
The boy cats kind of missed Charlie Brown this morning, looked for him in his favourite places and seemed to wait for him to show up any moment but they have resumed their normal routine by now. Cleo is just happy that the basement is hers again but she misses his kitten kibbles. :)
This is a new photo of Charlie Brown, taken yesterday evening when I went to my niece's home to serve him his dinner as Natalie and her boyfriend both had to work late. It was already quite dark when I arrived and I could only take a few rather grainy photos. Here Charlie sat at the balcony door and listened to the noises on the street but didn't really want to go out. Maybe he thinks it's already too cold now, in this case winter will be a tough experience. :)
It's a cloudy December afternoon in West Allis Wisconsin, as Lonnie captured Milwaukee Road Sprint Train 209 with 21 cars taking the single track branch (the Airline) out of Milwaukee and under the Chicago and Northwestern overpass. There must have been some sort of backlog of trains on the LaCrosse Division between Elm Grove and Grand Avenue for the hot Sprint to use this route, but Milwaukee Road SD40-2 192 is doing a fine job of getting the TOFC's out of town. In a few miles, the Sprint will hit the high iron at Elm Grove and make it's run for St. Paul. At this location, the Union Pacific now runs over what is now a hiking/biking trail.

I discovered the abandoned gas station in a small town. I have been through this town many, many times, but did not know until weeks ago while I browsed through the one of a car show pages this town hosted a while back. Will posted some more later.

At this backdoor of St. Rupert's Church (Ruprechtskirche), the oldest church of Vienna, the Islamist terrorist, who had killed four people and injured 23 others before, was cornered and shot dead by the police two weeks ago.
Some people wonder why candles have been placed there. The answer is that those who have some information about the killer's family situation pity his mother.
On the other hand the killer's name is never mentionend in Austrian media, and I won't mention it either. Let's just call him the asshole like in #schleichdiduoaschloch. www.derstandard.at/story/2000121445124/das-gefuehl-einer-...

The back view of the "The Space" (see post from a few days ago for the street view). Cedar Falls, Iowa.
These two sculptures are located outside one of the many doors of the palace of Ludwigsburg. The door leads directly into the southward facing part of the park. I only had a macro lens with me that day and had to take two photos, one of each sculpture, which I stitched together in Photoshop.

Since I did not have any ND filters to soften the clouds, I decided to test the effect of combining multiple exposures. The result is a median stack of 41, 1/20sec, exposures with a 2sec recycle time.

A group of muralists transformed the interior (and exterior) of a small, recently vacated house on Barton St in Toronto that's awaiting demolition and redevelopment. Each room became an immersive mural installation created by a different artist or team of artists. The artists spent June and July painting, and in August they opened up the house for the public to enjoy!
The developers love the idea and it has strong support from the nearby community, with the Awesome Foundation supporting the costs of materials.
There is a core group of five artists/planners who organized the project: Stephanie Avery, Jieun Kim, Jenneen Beattie, Tara Dorey, and Andre Kan. With their network of muralists, they've filled the house with amazing art from some of the city's most established muralists as well as creating opportunities for emerging muralists to add to their portfolios (a challenge when working with such a large-scale medium).
This image depicts the real backdoor entrance to the home with the door open for visitors to come and go.
