Wet and windy after a stormy night being the final camp of the North York Moors branch of the Backpacker's Club meet. Here we are in the camping field behind the revamped and much improved Lord Stones Cafe. In total we had nine tents two with double-occupants, not at all bad for the time of year. As per usual good companionship, excellent moorland walking, and superb hospitality from Wolfgang at the Buck Inn at Chop Gate, where we spent Saturday evening and overnight. Here at Lord Stones the wind and rain made sleep a much harder task but hey-ho, as my Grandad used to say "we never died a winter yet" Thanks to Lance and everyone for a great couple of days out and about at the end of the year, another stirs on the horizon and as Grandad used to say (he did say quite a lot), well when one door closes, that's another one shut!
