Today's Macro Mondays entry - topic:- Multicoloured
Hope everyone has a colourful a week as this photographic challenge has been. Have a good one. Whilst it looks like a bouncy castle, which it isn't, I'll leave you to reflect on what's going on here ... 😊
1991 Nissan Figaro
Styled, according to Nissan, to convey “a delicate feeling of stylish elegance in everyday life” while satisfying “a zestful desire for a good time,” this cutie’s charms puts you, your passenger, and every onlooker in a good mood. It’s a happy little car, one that timelessly pays tribute to vintage Italian, French and Japanese microcars. It’s remarkably ageless, retaining its bouncy charisma despite being 29 years old. Just a bin full of bouncing balls, but after all the B&W I have been doing lately, I just had to throw in a little color.
We live in an area where it rarely snows, so I love snow. It makes me feel like a kid again. I don't know where that feeling comes from, but it seems to make my girlfriend happy to

it was a bit subdued because of his torn nail, but we'll do something special next week or soon when he heals up enough for a trip somewhere fun :-)

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Reflections"
Every once in a while I do like to try and get some movement into an image and when "Reflections" came up as a theme I started thinking what I could get reflections from and this movement option came to mind.
I have a Granite base which is normally used for resting hot pans on in the kitchen which I bought around four years ago because it is black and reflective. I've used it before and decided that I could get reflections from a bouncing ball along with some movement.
After setting up and deciding that focussing for 3 inches on the shortest side would give me leeway in height to capture the ball but also meaning a square crop I set exposure for a slow shutter speed and rear curtain sync flash. Then I set about bouncing the ball on the hot plate while triggering an exposure and hoping that the ball ended up in the correct focal plane and roughly in a good position in frame when the flash triggered and the exposure ended.
After several tries which was around 60 images I ended up with only 3 images I was happy with. This is the second one of the three. The first was roughly in contact with the base plate when the flash went off but I liked this one which was still airborne but still shows a reflection and also motion trails.
The flash was placed on the right which is obvious in the image and a white cardboard sheet was placed to the left to provide fill as some test images had the left side of the ball disappear into darkness although I quite liked this effect too.
Hope there's a bounce in your step today folks. For the Looking Close...on Friday theme 'Fabric Texture'
Grandma and Grandpa have really come through in the battle for "coolest place for a kid to play". On top of the excitement of running through the sprinkler or bouncing in the castle with her cousins Berk & Bri, there was a bottomless supply of ice pops for cooling off and more than one batch of cookies fresh from the oven.
Please come back!
Explored #27 Frontpage! :)
i found this bouncy ball on the roof level of a parking garage i was on.

Here's a new photo from a unique area of the south island of New Zealand between Queenstown and Milford Sound. There is a cool chunk of land where there is this glowing yellow matte of moss. It's super thick and spongey... It's so soft that you can fall backwards into it and bounce softly like an Earth-trampoline.
There comes a time when a spider's patience runs out. We were surely near that point when I decided to pack up before they packed it in. There's really no point in stressing a houseguest that far.
One last shot! Yes, I'm close to the wall and that springy cable can only go so far before it just topples everything. How about a very, and I mean VERY, acute bounce shot off the ceiling. This is what happened!
Not an enormous amount of that flash hit the subject. But it did do something. I really dislike macro-style — let's call it close-up photography —with a naked flash simply because the shadows are harsh and everything looks flat.
Now you can see something else too. This is more the true colour of that wall. Yes, it's not the fashionable "greige", and my painter hates me. For that matter, I'm not that fond of him either.
I did have to work harder to pull up the details in this shot. But it has a certain "dark" appeal which, I hope, sets the secret fears of the arachnophobes scurrying off like the spiders they irrationally fear. Most spiders are not lurking in the dark with predatory intent, least of all for a big bag of bones too big to make their soup. When it is safe to do so, I hope to relocate this beauty. That could have happened instead of a photoshoot. But it was bucketing down tonight, and if I didn't want to go outside, why would a spider?
