Our wonderful Bobby who returned to us this year, for the third consecutive time

This is an image of one of his triplets, at the taking food stage but able to fly

We felt so privileged that he trusted us so much, he brought them all over to our kitchen door

It was like a blackbird nursery

It wasn't long before he stopped feeding them and left them to fend for themselves (it's a hard life being a bird) He would watch from the sidelines though

The little ones are still visiting several times daily, although we've not seen Bobby the past few days.

I miss his little face appearing at the window and the tilt of his head as he listens to me talking to him

I just hope if thats the last we see of him this year, he returns next year. I've grown mighty fond of our little visitor

Not the greatest of images, he's not so keen when he see's the camera :)

Ramsey 1940's weekend. I like this guy, he was happy to have his photo taken but managed to look well grumpy like a proper old bobby.

It's not everyday you encounter a photobombing Bobby.

Bobby Loves Shrewsbury Animal Hospital : )

Just after the cyclone, we were visited late by an adult male Galah. It was soon evident that he was near tame and I even ended up patting him on the back. We gave him some food but by the time he was finished, it was dark and he just flew up into our orange tree and as far as I know spent the night there.

He has become a beautiful regular, even seems to have his own little group of fans apart from us that is). Yesterday morning he was first in for breakfast eating from the trays that Jenny was taking out before she even set them down!

He arrived late today at 10.00 am but we still gave him some breakfast. He will readily eat from our hands and didn't have to observe others doing it, confirming to us that he may be a lost pet.

That crinkley skin around the eye ring is called carunculation and changes colour a little with age.

Needless to say, Bobby has very quickly captured our hearts.

This was taken at the 2nd Annual Duck-N-Jeep Jam which is a charity event hosted by The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office and The Special Olympics! It’s aim obviously is to raise money for the Special Olympics Organization. By all accounts it was a great success.

My photographic plans, however, failed for the day. It was HOT and I just couldn't get in the groove to take photographs and those i did suffered from non attention to my camera settings or attempts at composition. I don’t often have days where I absolutely can not concentrate, even a little, on my photography but here was a major one. I felt hot, miserable and dehydrated no matter how much I drank. My wife suffered worse than I and almost passed out. I worried for her a eventually decided to get her out of there, albeit the event was almost over at that point.

Personal problems aside, this is a great and worthwhile charitable event. I can not wait until next year where I hope the weather will be a little milder or my wife and I are better prepared.

Last October we sadly had to bid farewell to our 19 year old cat, Bert, who can be glimpsed within the picture frame on the window sill. On Good Friday we welcomed 12 week old Bobby. Now 21 weeks old, Bobby is seen here eyeing up a fly doing its best to knock itself out against the window.

He says, "Good boy, Bobby," "Hi, Bobby," and "Goodbye." But, when he imitates a human laugh, his human guests laugh along with him!
