The E34 generation of the M5 was produced from September 1988 to 1995. It was hand-built at BMW M GmbH in Garching, Germany. It was based on the E34 chassis which was produced at BMW's Dingolfing plant. Assembly was done either by a single M employee or a team of M employees and generally took about two weeks
Released in 1989 with a 3.6 litre BMW S38B36 engine producing 311bhp, n second half of 1991, the engine displacement was increased to 3.8 litres with the S38B38 and an output of 335bhp. A 6-speed manual transmission was available as an option from 1991.
In 1992, a five-door Touring version (estate/wagon) was introduced in LHD form, with 891 cars made. The E34 M5 Touring was BMW M Division's first wagon, as well as the last hand built M car made.

Matchbox doing what they excel at and thats modelling every day vehicles likely to be seen in many countries and continents around the World and thus can be relatable to an extremely wide audience from young children to adults. Their brand new G99 generation BMW M5 Touring debuts in the latest mix of Moving Parts and immediately i'm a big fan even if the tampo machine really should have stretched around the sides to complete the side indicators!
Coloured in a stand out metallic aqua colour which i'm not sure is actually a real life factory option, it looks every inch the sporting high performance wagon featuring front and rear tampo and an opening bonnet/hood.
