USA Today bestseller by Leila Meacham.
At the height of World War II, a handful of idealistic young Americans receive a mysterious letter from the government, asking them if they are willing to fight for their country. The men and women from very different backgrounds -- a Texan athlete with German roots, an upper-crust son of a French mother and a wealthy businessman, a dirt-poor Midwestern fly fisherman, an orphaned fashion designer, and a ravishingly beautiful female fencer -- all answer the call of duty, but each for a secret reason of her or his own. They bond immediately, in a group code-named Dragonfly.
It is a title of a bestseller from 2021 (as far as I recall) and a meaning of the inscription on the wall under the bridge in Munich-Pasing. The inscription is in Russian (please follow the yellow arrow) and it means "for us cool guys the sky is the limit" or "we cool guys don't give a f...ck".
For the gentlemen who did it both can be true. The wall they painted their graffiti on is hardly accessible, so they did take a risk and probably didn't give a f...ck.
"Ohh those Russians" ((c) Boney M - "Rasputin")
Corral sull'Arno 'parallel to the river Arno'.
Second floor.
Enjoy the city's splendid panoramas through this short glazed corridor - an architectural masterpiece. Admire the breathtaking panorama of the Arno across the Ponte Vecchio and the other four bridges gliding toward the Apuan Alps on the horizon.
The Vasarian Corridoio 'follows the corridor above the bridge' is a high, covered passageway linking the Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria with the Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti on the other side of the river. About 1 km long, it was designed by Vasari for Cosme I in 1565, allowing the Medici and the high court dignitaries to walk between the two palaces in privacy and comfort.
Passing through the loggia 'gallery' or Secondo Corridoio, before entering the Terzo Corridoio 'Third Corridor'.
At the end of the Hall of the Five Hundred a small windowless side room was held. This masterpiece, the Studio (Studiolo) of Francis I de Medici, was also designed by Vasari and executed in Mannerist style (1570-1575). The walls and vaults are completely covered with paintings, stucco and sculptures. Many of the paintings are from Vasari's school and represent the four elements: water, earth, air and fire. The portrait of Cosme I and his wife, Leonor de Toledo, was made by Agnolo Bronzino. The delicate bronze sculptures were built by Giambologna and Bartolomeo Ammannati. Dismantled over the centuries, they were rebuilt only in the twentieth century.
The baptistery is an octagonal building that symbolizes the eighth day (octava dies), the time of Christ's Ascension. It symbolized eternal life, which is given by baptism. The style of the church served as a prototype for Leone Battista Alberti's construction of other Romanesque churches in Tuscany. The exterior is decorated with statues by Andrea Sansovino, Giovan Francesco Rustici and Vincenzo Danti.

Inverted glass pyramid of the Louvre under the Place du Carrousel (1er)
The film adaptation of Dan Brown's bestseller of the same name, directed by Ron Howard in 2003, combines real elements into a fantastic thriller, just like the book it is based on. At the end of the film, Professor Langdon, played by Tom Hanks, kneels down on the base of the pyramid visible at the top because the tomb of Mary Magdalene, and therefore the Holy Grail, is fictitiously located under the stone counterpart at the bottom.

Like the large entrance pyramid of the Louvre, the inverted pyramid was designed by the architect Ieoh Ming Pei
and opened to the public in 1993. Above ground, the pyramid is concealed behind hedges in the centre of the Place du Carrousel. Daylight enters the hall below through its transparent base, which is turned upwards.
Access is possible every day long after the shops have closed via the underground shopping centre ‘Carrousel du Louvre’ at 99 Rue de Rivoli until 10 pm. The last hour is a good time to take photos of the pyramid without visitors.

Ceiling mosaic.
A giant figure of Christ and, beneath the feet of the Christ, the dead rising from their graves - The Last Judgment, when the Ascended Lord will summon the living and the dead alike to report their actions.
On the right hand of Christ are the incorruptible souls in the breast of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Patriarchs of ancient Israel.
To His left is hell.
In the remaining five sectors of the dome, horizontal rows of decorated mosaic illustrate the stories of Saint John the Baptist, Christ, the Patriarch Joseph and the origin of human life (Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and his family). In the highest row, near the light, are the angel choirs.

Ane Brun-Big In Japan (The Bestseller Deep Remix)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHWLGolbjp0
Winter's city side
Crystal bits of snowflakes
All around my head and in the wind
I had no illusions that I'd ever find
A glimpse of summer's heatwaves in your eyes
You did what you did to me
Now it's history I see
Here's my comeback on the road again
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight
It's easy when you're big in Japan
Oh, when you're big in Japan, tonight
Big in Japan, be tight
Big in Japan, ooh, the Eastern sea's so blue
Big in Japan, alright
Pay, then I'll sleep by your side
Things are easy when you're big in Japan
Oh, when you're big in Japan
Neon on my naked skin
Passing silhouettes
Of strange illuminated mannequins
Shall I stay here at the zoo
Or shall I go and change my point of view
For other ugly scenes?
You did what you did to me
Now it's history I see
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight
It's easy when you're big in Japan
Oh, when you're big in Japan, tonight
Big in Japan, be tight
Big in Japan, ooh, the Eastern sea's so blue
Big in Japan, alright
Pay, then I'll sleep by your side
Things are easy when you're big in Japan

Dr. med. Wolfgang Wodarg was one of the first critics of the German corona policy. Today, he is a founding member of a new party, "dieBasis", which will run in the Bundestag elections and clearly positions itself against the corona measures. The 1st place on the bestseller list speaks for itself.

Ghiberti's original 15th-century masterpiece, A Porta del Paradiso (Door to Heaven), designed for the east entrance to the baptistery, 1425-1452.
After 27 years hidden away in restoration workshops, the glorious 16 meter tall gilded brass doors, which took nearly three decades to restore, were unveiled with much pomp and ceremony in 2012.
Above the door 3 sculptures, 'The Baptism of Christ', 1502-1505, Andrea Sansovino.
This garden is a visual interpretation of the German bestseller The Perfume by Patrick Süskind (1985).
The main character, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, has an excellent sense of smell but does not have body odor. He embarks on a murderous quest to recreate the ultimate scent: the one that would destroy all forms of hatred, including his own contempt for humanity.
The garden plants are a sample of most of the flowers, trees and natural materials that are described in the novel. Across the garden, a trail runs like a scented ribbon. It leads to the ultimate perfume: a drop in the hollow of a leaf placed in height, out of reach, evoking the strength of desires.
The space is divided into seven sections, each representing a family of fragrances. The extraction of the species of plants is materialized by three glass sculptures. They consist of blue bottles, transparent bottles and opaque and colored vials.
The plants in this garden are all used by perfumers, some even found in the descriptions of paradise.

Life's a journey, not a destination.
I just found out tonight that my eBook is the #1 Bestseller in the Travel category at my publisher.....out of several hundred books.
Please excuse my pride....but at least now I can say I wrote a "bestseller" - even if it is in a niche category!
Many thanks to all of you who have purchased the book since it was released last summer...
