13Jul Barcelona Perspective :Percepting and drawing architecture workshop. We caught the Metro to Espanya near the Caixa Forum to the Mies Van de Roche "German Pavillion" (Or the "Barcelona Pavilion" built for the 1929 Barcelona Expo - (also housing the famous Barcelona Chair:- a landmark in 20th century furniture design .

I felt that this was the most challenging workshop for me. It was the most technical and I had moments where I froze and could not think ! I did involve a lots of measuring (which equates to mathematics In my mind and therefore scary.) BUT I do comparative measuring all the time when I draw , so I am not sure why this was different. anyway - it also was great fun and I got to sketch with Sue Pownall who I had been hoping to see in Barcelona.

One point persective

The baggie was taped closed, so I couldn't investigate too closely before deciding whether to pay the $3 price ... but ... I could see enough of that blue wrap dress (1979/80 My First Barbie Fashions - Mattel #1368) to recognize it as a vintage item in good condition ... and that was enough for me! ;-)

The rest is just "gravy", which includes 3 dolls:

1. Barbie Cut'n Style Princess

2014 - Mattel #BCP41

** 2013 Millie opened-mouth sculpt

2. 2013 Classic Disney/Mattel Princess Belle is my best guess, she has the poseable arms, soft vinyl legs with internal knee joints, the shy side-glance, and no pronounced widow's peak hairline.

3. a cheapie blonde clone

Also:

1 pair of tropical print board shorts (from Barbie Fun in the Sun/Water Play Ken - 2016 Mattel #DGT83)

8 pairs of shoes, 1 necklace, a bunny ears headband,

a complete bikini (Barbie Beach - 2014 - Mattel #BCN23) and

2 additional bikini bottoms (1 from Beach Teresa - 2012 Mattel #X9599),

2 tutu skirts & ...

--- long skirt from

Barbie Easter Princess with Bunny (Target excl) - 2011 Mattel #W2942

... not to mention those marshmallows skewered on a stick, ready for roasting over a campfire - whoop! :-D

Some items that fall into the it's-a-total-mystery-to-me category include a silver seahorse (maybe he belongs to Ariel?).

A very small petal-cut skirt/collar/I dunno what?

A bright yellow panel with an inset, aqua-colored owl face and a tripod sort-of-a-candlestick-looking(but-not-quite-exactly)kinda-thingamabob ... ish.

Oh - and a pink sort of pouch-like thing, which I have twisted on over the clone's hair, towel-turban style.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: My Fashionistas Peace & Love Barbie was donning these swimsuit bottoms when I bought her. I rescued Miss Peace & Love from the local flea market in 2025. Admittedly, I wanted the Peaches 'n Cream gown she was sporting...not the doll herself. Though of course I was more than happy to adopt Barbie too. Anyways, when my sister was inspecting the condition of the fashion in the Jeep on the way home, she noted these bikini bottoms hidden under the dress. I knew they had nothing to do with Barbie herself, since she has a bent arm. Beach dolls almost always have straight arms. I absolutely adore the print of this set. The hearts are darling and very vibrant. It's such a shame I don't have the matching top at this time.
