Probably the last Snail Saturday upload for this year, so hope all you snail lovers out there have a great week, and I'll be back to Snail Saturday next year! HSS ;0)
Three partially successful lockdown exercise walks today leading to three unsuccessful train pictures.
Glorious sun this morning but missed 937 as he was early, and 920 was a few minutes earlier than hoped so I didn't beat it to the sunny side.
934 found an errant cloud, and evening 925 here arrived just after the sun left the scene, despite the best efforts of Driver Mike.

A good length 934, but Mr Wallace and I get here a bit late to scope out a better shot than this heavily cropped number. The yellow stakes are newly converted log wagons on the back.

A bowl of boiled sweets photographed through water drops.
This was my first ever attempt at this type of photography and in just an hour of experimenting I learned quite a lot. Firstly, because I was using a 150mm macro lens with extremely narrow depth of field it’s important that the water drops are a similar size, if one drop is a different depth then it results in different focus. Also, it’s much better to use a water dropper (an eye drop dispenser for example) rather than a spray. The dropper allows much greater control over drop size. Also, if using a spray you can end up with air bubbles in the water drops which are not visible to the naked eye.
The Agra Fort is a historical Mughal fort in the city of Agra, also known as Agra's Red Fort. Mughal emperor Humayun was crowned at this fort in 1530. It was later renovated by the Mughal emperor Akbar from 1565 and the present-day structure was completed in 1573. It served as the main residence of the rulers of the Mughal dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. It was also known as the "Lal-Qila" or "Qila-i-Akbari". Before being captured by the British, the last Indian rulers to have occupied it were the Marathas. In 1983, the Agra fort was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its importance during Mughal rule. It is about 2.5 kilometers northwest of its more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more accurately described as a walled city. It was later renovated by Shah Jahan.
Like the rest of Agra, the history of Agra Fort prior to Mahmud of Ghazni's invasion is unclear. However, in the 15th century, the Chauhan Rajputs occupied it. Soon after, Agra assumed the status of capital when Sikandar Khan Lodi (1487–1517 CE) shifted his capital from Delhi and constructed a few buildings in the preexisting fort at Agra. After the first battle of Panipat (1526 CE), Mughals captured the fort and ruled from it. In 1530 CE, Humayun was crowned in it. The fort was given its present appearance during the reign of Akbar (1556–1605 CE). Later, this fort was under the rule of Jats of Bharatpur for 13 years.
The sun is doing its best to come out, but early this morning it was snowing (unexpectedly) and hovering right around 28-30 degrees, just the right mix to make roads icy. Headed out to meet a group at Muscatatuck, but about 18 miles in to the 50 mile trip, came across a bad wreck on a bridge in Edinburgh, and worsening road conditions, so just turned around and called it a day. These cattle seem to feel the same about the morning weather as I did.

It's difficult to think about anything except the floods, now estimated to cost 5 billion pounds, so here's a shot of my grand daughter "enjoying" another Christmas feast. Made me smile about something!

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. In a sea of Santa's for the Glasgow Santa Dash there is one Ebenezer Scrooge - dressed like a mint humbug! I just loved this shot and he was the only non-Santa that I saw in the dash, dressed up pooches excepted. Enjoy full screen by pressing 'L' or clicking on the image - a 'Fun for Friday' shot.
