B772's brand new SD70MAC overhauls pause next to the old B&O passenger station at Keyser before reversing to make their pickup. At one point this town would have called several long distance passenger trains home. These lasted even into Amtrak, with the Shenandoah making a stop here until it was eliminated in 1981. Since then, the station has been silent for passenger traffic, but has remained standing to this day.
B772 rounds the sweeping curve at Pinto on their way east into Cumberland with Q316's train. They were taking their time on the trip from Keyser to Cumberland, which allowed for multiple photos along the way. The two rebuilt SD70ACs shine bright, being on perhaps their first or second trip since being released from the Huntington Shops. Look how clean that plow is!

CSX B772 pulls its power ahead past the east end of the B&O yard at Keyser. With the loss of Verso's paper mill in nearby Luke, this yard's main reason for being is to store excess tonnage for Q316 and Q317 on days when those trains are too heavy to make it up the many grades on the Mountain Sub between Grafton and Keyser. The cut of cars to the right was brought in on a previous day's B772 and will go east to Cumberland today with the rest of Q316's train.
