Exploring the shapes and lines in nature means getting close and really looking at the details. This fern at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens has all sorts of variegation that can be brought out more starkly in black and white.

B&P 3101 leads the Southbound turn to Silver Springs at DL&W Jct in Pavilion, NY on December 19, 2019. It's hard to tell, but there used to be a bridge over the tracks about where the 4th unit is. The DL&W crossed this ex BR&P line on that bridge. There was also once an interchange here too, all has vanished long ago. I used to like to photograph the Southbound RS-97 Chessie train from the bridge.

6855 is just starting to move again after waiting for a city bound Metra train to clear ahead at Barrington. The three dash 2s have auto racks and auto parts for the GM plant in Janesville along with ballast empties for Rock Springs on the back end.

Air China 986 departs San Francisco. Looks like a SkyWest CRJ crew had a nice vantage point.
