Melbourne has experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are the Autumnal colours starting to appear, but there are still plenty of beautiful blooms.
This "Crepuscule" rose caught my eye as it's petals caught the bright early afternoon sunshine. This is a very old rose, and it suited the old house and pretty formal garden in which it was growing.
"Crepuscule" is a Noisette Rose which was introduced in 1904. Noisette Roses are tall, bushy plants with clusters of small blooms. They can be grown as climbers with support for their tender canes. They flower with abundance and give off a delicate spicy fragrance. Colors range from white, crimson, and purple.

A person, who values the beauty of nature and ambient the world, for richer and happier than those, who did not notices this.

SCOUT: "Daddy! Daddy, Aurora and I are back from Mummy Marian's! We're very hungry and thirsty after whizzing around on my new Scooter that I was given for my birthday by mijn beste vriend Peter! Now we have grumbly tummies, don't we Aurora?"
AURORA: "Oh yes we do, sweet Scoutie! Grumbly tummy Scoutie! Grumbly tummy!" *Rubs tummy vigorously.
SCOUT: "Oh look! Daddy was true to his word! I warned him that we were coming back here for tea and he has put out the tea things for us, and he brought out Dolly for me! Hullo Dolly!" *Gives Dolly a cuddle.* "I missed you!"
DOLLY: *Remains silent in Scout's paws.*
AURORA: "Oh look, Scoutie! The tea set has cute little faeries on it!"
SCOUT: "Oh! Daddy tells us that they are called Pixies, Aurora, not faeries."
AURORA: "Oh what are Pixies, Scoutie?"
SCOUT: "They are like faeries, but they are English, like Daddy."
AURORA: "Oh!" *Puts paw to mouth.* "Oh and look, Scoutie! It is set up just for two!"
SCOUT: "Yes, for you and me, Aurora!"
AURORA: "Oh that is nice of Daddy. Then I can sit next to you and maybe... maybe we can bump noses!" *Giggles.*
SCOUT: "Well I..." *Blushes pink beneath woollen plush.*
DADDY: "Oh! Hullo Scout and Aurora! I have just boiled the kettle and made you some tea." *Puts teapot down.* "Did you have a good time?"
SCOUT: "Oh hullo Daddy! Yes we did! We had soooo much fun! Wheeeee!"
AURORA: "Hullo Daddy! We rode around on Scoutie's scooter soooo fast! Wheeeee!"
SCOUT: "But now we are hungry and thirsty! All that whizzing around Mummy Marian's garden has given us grumbly tummies!"
AURORA and SCOUT: "Grumbly tummies, Daddy! Grumbly tummies!" *Rub tummies vigorously.*
DADDY: "Well, just as well I just baked these whilst you were out whizzing around." *Puts down tin.*
AURORA: "Oooooohhhh!" *Intrigued.* "What's inside, Daddy?"
DADDY: "Why don't you open it up and find out, Aurora?"
AURORA: *Carefully opens tin.* "Oooooohhhh! Biscuits! Yummy!"
SCOUT: "Oooooohhhh! You special shortbread biscuits, Daddy! Thank you so much!"
AURORA: "Oh yes, thank you Daddy!"
DADDY: "Now, you two, make yourselves comfortable here on the lawn, eat and drink your fill, and then you can ride around on the scooter around our garden."
SCOUT and AURORA: "Oh thank you Daddy!"
My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558... and www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577233464...) and their MummyMarian Kloon (on and off). Aurora (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577235370...) is my bear Nanuk's niece and lives with Mummy Marian after being blown there on a cloud from the North Pole, as both she and Nanuk are Polar Bears. Aurora and Scout have a lot in common and are fast becoming very good friends!
Scout's best friend Peter built a scooter with his own paws as a Birthday present to Scout, who recently turned six. Scout used the magic portal between Mummy Marian's house and our house here in Australia and took his new scooter with him so that he could ask his friend Aurora to go for a ride with him. You can see here: www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/54420350277/in/faves-4... or in the first comment below. After whizzing around very fast for a while, they decided that it was high time they stopped for tea, but back here at our house, so they warned me, and I had just enough time to set out the tea things and boil the kettle before they whizzed through the magic portal on Scout's scooter and arrived to take tea in our garden in the beautiful autumnal sunshine.
This beautiful tea set was made in England by the Shell China Company in the 1930s. It features two cups, saucers and plates as well as a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl. Each piece is gilt edged and decorated with pixies enjoying different pastimes. The set is very rare. I acquired it from England, and it is a sister set to a 1920s Shell China Company nursery rhyme tea set and a 1920s faerie tale tea set. There are also doll (bear) sized tea spoons which are sterling silver salt spoons, and the spoon in the sugar bowl is an Eighteenth Century mustard spoon and is sterling silver.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
Thank you very much to Marian Kloon (on and off) for the use of her photo of Aurora in my photo montage.
