"I love old fences…they remind me of an era…
an age that was simple and slow.
They are rustic, pastoral…picturesque…
and harken to a time long ago.
They span generations…they are a link to our past…
In the present…they can still be our guide…
and when we climb them we gaze into our future…
waiting for us…on the other side".
Part of a poem by: Jim Yerman

Bob took us for a walk after lunch to the nearby village of Sillans-la-Cascade and I couldn't resist another shot of this wonderful old oak tree on the edge of a meadow and an olive grove. The sun was getting low in the sky and shone beautifully through the tree.
For thinking that this was a spring shot, but oh no, it’s another late autumn capture of some strawberries in the garden.
Thanks fro stopping
I took this late afternoon yesterday from the top of the rock face which overlooks Cotignac. It had been raining heavily all day and as we were driving home after a long lunch at my OH's sister & brother-in-law, the rain began to stop and the sun was breaking through the clouds. You can see the remnants of the rain clouds in the distance
Last weekend we discovered a wonderful new walk for Bob about 30 minutes drive from home near the lovely small town of Vidauban. It was a very old Château surrounded by vineyards with paths among the vines where you could walk and a river flowing by it. It was so quiet and a great place to take a dog. What you see in the photo is the back of the Château
A snippet from their website (which explains the unusual design of the Château):
"The estate became national property during the Revolution and it was not until 1802 that the estate fell back into the public domain. Maximin Martin, a wealthy soap maker from Marseille, then acquired the land of Astros. His grandson, Marc Maximin Martin, a keen admirer of Italian art, built a magnificent Château inspired by Tuscan villas in 1860. He passed on the Astros estate to the grandson of his first cousin Joseph Maurel."
"A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside."
- Denis Waitley
I saw this yesterday at about 18.00 hours through my window.
Just one moment and this special light was gone.
Have a great new week my friends. Thank you so much for your friendship! This means a lot for me in these unsure days.
Hugs and love to you and special cuddles by Beethoven

Wast water panoramic with a bittingly cold wind and snow on the pikes yet beautiful sunny autumn afternoon.
(don't forget your gloves) 😊™️
Bob took us somewhere new for a walk on Saturday. This shows a wonderful old oak tree which was at the entrance to a huge wood full of oak trees. As you can see, the sun was out and it was perfect end-of-Autumn weather.
Happy new week and happy new month! :-)
We took Doris, the Citroën 2CV out for a drive this morning and we ended up in beautiful Vidauban, specifically at Chateau d'Astros where we wandered through the vineyards. This photo was peeking through the gates at the entrance to the Chateau
We were walking amongst very large vineyards in the countryside around the nearby villages of Montfort-sur-Argens and Carcès and my eye was drawn to the avenue of platane trees which we had just driven down before parking the car
Great Orme Tramway, Llandudno, Conwy County, North Wales.
Great Orme Tramway Coordinates....: 53.3321°N 3.8544°W
Great Orme Tramway opened in 1902
The Great Orme Tramway (Welsh: Tramffordd y Gogarth) is a cable-hauled 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) gauge tramway in Llandudno in north Wales. Open seasonally from late March to late October, it takes over 200,000 passengers each year from Llandudno Victoria Station to just below the summit of the Great Orme headland. From 1932 onwards it was known as the Great Orme Railway, reverting to its original name in 1977.
It is Great Britain's only remaining cable-operated street tramway, and one of only a few surviving in the world, and it is owned by Conwy County Borough Council. The line comprises two sections, where each section is an independent funicular and passengers change cars at the Halfway station. Whilst the upper section runs on its own right of way and is similar to many other funicular lines, the lower section is an unusual street-running funicular.
Whilst the street running section resembles the better-known San Francisco cable cars, its operation is quite different in that it adheres to the funicular principle where the cars are permanently fixed to the cable and are stopped and started by stopping and starting the cable, unlike San Francisco where cars attach to, and detach from, a continuously running cable. As such, this section's closest relatives are Lisbon's Glória, Bica, and Lavra street funiculars.

I thought it might be time to give you a break from rainforests. This is the other face of The Gold Coast ... commonly referred to as the Glitter Strip. Its not an area that we tend to frequent but we are taking a break from living in the camper trailer and have rented a unit just near here for a few weeks. One of reasons we wanted a break from the camper was the ongoing rain we'd been getting. You can see from this image that we've done everyone a huge favour by making this decision :))
Miss Mia is 18 1/2, very healthy and very loving!
Even though she looks like she is angry-scowling she is never in a bad mood and has the sweetest nature.
She loves sitting in the Autumn sunshine.
Taken in my neighbours garden yesterday -- so much activity around these Michaelmas daisies in the sunshine -- very different today, at more risk of drowning in all the rain !!
This vineyard was near me when I was taking the recent photo of Cotignac in Autumn colours. The sun was catching the vines and highlighting the golden colours. The white flowers you see are wild flowering rocket and are very prevalent here - they're blooming away all over at the moment

Just love this song:-) This is the road I walked this morning and jsut walking along taking in the colours and the sunshine did me the world of good:-) Hope you all are having a wonderful Halloween Weekend!
We drove past this spot the other day and I noticed the amazing copper coloured leaves on the platane trees and the yellowing leaves of the vines in the vineyard so we returned yesterday and parked up so I could take a few shots. The sun was stage left and I love the way it appears the trees are leaning in towards the late autumn light
HCT!
Miss Mia is 18 1/2, very healthy and the sweetest cat ever!
Even though she looks like she is angry-scowling she is never in a bad mood.
She has been an indoor cat since she was rescued at about 3 months old. But she does love some Autumn sunshine and every day she follows the sun around the house until it disappears.
