This is a picture of the Max patch used to control the Arduino & slide projectors. Most of the functionality is hidden, but it's a pretty basic design.
The patch runs an Applescript that constantly polls iTunes for the current trackname. If the first word of the trackname matches one of the target words (i.e. one of the songs in the dance), then the patch sends a bang to begin playing back the corresponding script.
The script is just a textfile that lists projector number to advance and number of milliseconds to wait until the next instruction. There is a subpatch that iterates through the lines of the textfile until it hits the end.
Finally, the patch is hooked up to an Arduino through maxuino (http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Interfacing/MaxMSP, scroll to the bottom). The Arduino has relays attached to 5 of its pins, and when it is instructed to by software, it will send pin high, and the corresponding relay will trip, closing the circuit.
