1993 stellte Audi auf der Internationalen Automobilausstellung IAA in Frankfurt am Main den Audi Space Frame vor, die erste Vollaluminium-Karosserie der Welt. Mit nur 180 Kilogramm Gewicht und ihrer polierten Oberfläche hängt sie mit weit geöffneten Türen von der Decke des Schürerstands. Sicher trägt auch diese sakral anmutende Installation dazu bei, dass das ehemalige Kesselhaus von Zollverein noch heute ehrfürchtig als „Kathedrale der Industriekultur“ bezeichnet wird.
In 1993, Audi unveiled the Audi Space Frame, the world's first all-aluminum body, at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main. Weighing just 180 kilograms and boasting a polished surface, it hangs from the ceiling of the stoker's stand with its doors wide open. This seemingly sacred installation certainly contributes to the fact that the former boiler house at Zollverein is still reverently referred to as the "Cathedral of Industrial Heritage."

Produziert wird das Fahrzeug zusammen mit dem Audi R8 4S in der Sportwagenmanufaktur Böllinger Höfe zwischen Neckargartach und Biberach bei Audi Sport. Das Fahrzeug basiert ebenso wie der Porsche Taycan auf der Plattform J1, etwa 40 % der Teile sind gleich.
The Audi e-tron GT (internal type designation FW) is a battery-electric luxury sports car from Audi AG. It belongs to the e-tron series. The vehicle is produced together with the Audi R8 4S in the Böllinger Höfe sports car factory between Neckargartach and Biberach at Audi Sport. Like the Porsche Taycan, the vehicle is based on the J1 platform; around 40% of the parts are the same.
